Now that the last piece of the puzzle arrived at the weekend just past, here's my 790 Adventure 'RS':

It started as a 2020 R and has been built as a bit-of-everything bike, including as a two-up travel machine. Key changes are the S tall screen, PowerParts Barkbusters, PP ergo heated seats, PP low chassis kit, Givi monokey top rack and removable side racks, AXP skid plate and just to complete 'the look', an orange front guard from the 2021 R / 2019-20 S high fender kit. The seat height is only 5mm taller than the S, but it has more travel and ground clearance, as well as the better suspension.

It's an awesomely capable motorcycle. It feels more like my 640 Adventure in terms of weight and handling than the 1190 S it replaced - even though it's weight is much closer to the 1190. And because I have the 640 Adventure, I'm not trying to set this one up as a dirt bike. I can swap the screen and the seats back to OEM for more rugged use, but frankly I can't see that happening. It still works mighty fine as it is...but time will tell!

After all these years... The Force is strong with this one!
Hope that the new 790 provides you with as many epic rides as the the 640 has! (change out the Karoo-rooters)

Cheers! The 640 has set a very high bar. I doubt I'll ride/race the 790 off-road like I did the 640, but the 790 will be more comfortable on the longer highway stretches.

Sadly I haven't ridden the 640 in 18 months, apart from a sneaky 'round the block. I miss riding it! Maybe late summer I will put some rego on it and go exploring. It's just so much damn fun!!

The Karoos are working ok for me, for now. I know a lot of ppl don't like them but they do seem to be a good compromise. Michelin Wilds next, probably.

imho this is just a sign that your growing older (and hopefully wiser) haha. Having unlimited amounts of information available, all my kid wants to do with it is search for new youtubers, follow vlogs (sometimes about dirtbikes though lol) and tiktok...(god help me)

Gotta give it to them though, they find stuff online in just a glance of me even opening google

Though about going full hardcopy roadtrip for my next, but quite honestly im just liking GPS navigation to much

You can even see the shadow it cast...

Bike looks great, do you experience any buffeting with the Rade rally tower and how tall are you?
I’m interested in the tower but had a bad experience with the Rade screen buffeting.

Thanks. I'm 181 (71 inches ?) tall and I feel less buffeting and wind noise than the original windscreen, but it's very personal and difference is slight...in any case, that doesn't really bother me.
