Did Route 58 from Damascus to Independence VA on the 790. What a hoot. I was at the COG rally in Lake Guntersville AL. No to many twisties there. So on roll home to Annapolis we stopped over night in Independence VA and did RT 58 to Damascus and back. Got up at 6:00 with wheels up at 7:00 to beat the heat. 64 degrees when we stated around 73 when we got back at 9:30 or so. Got my twisties hit.

Got home and my moto composite carbon fender was in. Going to have to make some bracket to adjust for 790 attachment points as fender was made for a 2290 SDGT.

I just replaced my 2019 790S by a 2021 890R. Wow, what a difference! I love that bike. I didn't check the sag or touch anything on the suspension yet and it's already very very good. The engine is really a big update from the 790. More torque, more power and smoother. No more 2 or 3 try for cold start. I also took the tech package with Rally mode, cruise control et quick shifter, this is really fun!

Run the annual Hurley to Highline loop the other day. A little to much FSR for me (~450km) but mighty purdy!

Truth be told, some epic single track was found! Keeping them trails a secret though...

To go from street setup to off road. I changed the wheels to the stock 21-18 setup. Change foot pegs from Piog racing pegs to Pivot Pros and the front fender to the high OEM fender . So an hour and a half or so I would guess

That level of protection works on a sport bike, but the 790/890 bikes have far more travel. I'd either send it to Konfkict for a hard coating or, at the very least, put a fork seal covers on from Kriega et al.

Yeah I think that’s a great idea with the fork seal covers. Thanks

It looks fantastic with the 17" wheels. For someone who's looking for a replacement for an old, clapped out 990 SMT, it looks like the perfect bike.

Found an amazing track hidden away, and was rewarded for the rocky journey up!
