The vast majority of the time, I really don't notice the big fuel tank.
But, every once in a while........................

I think the maples are changing late this year due to how wet is was in NY. Or something like that. Weird that half the trees are bare and you have the pockets of color mixed in. A bit north of you yesterday,

Yeah. Until yesterday I thought there would be no bright reds this year. Up until then it had all been yellow orange and brown. Yesterday I saw some spectacular reds for the first time. As you said, half the trees are bare, half the trees are now red and gold, and the other half are evergreens...

I have a request for you 790/890 Adventure R and Rally owners. Could you take some pics of the chrome portion of your forks, PM the pics to me and let me know what bike it is and how many miles the bike currently has? The pics I'm looking for are of the inner side of the forks next to the wheel. I'm having warranty issues with KTM due to the chrome flaking off of the forks. They said it happens all the time.

Well, it isn't normal on any bike so if it "happens all the time" on theirs then they are making them incorrectly.

Nope, that's not true or we'd all have heard about it over the last 3 years. Even Pics of all the prior bikes ever manufactured wouldn't help you with liars.

oof. Glad to hear he made it out okay and is on the mend. Is this the reason there are a bunch of random 890 parts on eBay shipping from Australia?

@GFY, wouldn`t it be easier the other way around, you post us a pic of your claimed issue with the forks.
The thing is, these are expensive forks and if this was a common problem like @kubcat mentions, we would all known about it. I have never seen anyone mention this before, so in my opinion it must be very rare. These bikes has been running for 3 years now.
Its also strange that this is an issue in relation to your claim. If it is a common problem, that the forks starts leaking due to chrome flaking, I suppose KTM would do a recall, because that would be dangerous. In Europe we all have 2 to 5 year warranty on production faults, thats alot of bikes running with these forks under warranty, so strange if this was a big problem issue, when nobody talks about it on all the bike forums all around. Since it is apperently not a common problem, they should easily accept your bad bagde an give you some new forks asap.

Unless.... there is some other untold story to the tale thats keeping them from accepting your claim.

For the record, mine 890 Adv R forks are perfectly fine as of today.
    Kindly regards Brage

Chrome flaking off is only caused by a fault during the plating process or the underlying metal, end of story. Physical damage is a different story. Same with pitting, but that usually only occurs after years and often involves long periods of non use in a corrosive environment.

It would be great if you'd post a photo of your forks.

Here are the pics of my forks. My plan was to bombard KTM with emails and pics of forks on multiple bikes to show them that it’s not a common problem.

It's a bit hard to see it well in a photo. At first it looked like impact damage with stones, etc in the photos, but there are a few spots that do look like it could be flaking, which is certainly not normal if that's indeed the case. My wild ass guess would be there was contamination on the tubes when plated. Any signs of similar flaking in areas protected by the fork guards?

One simple question. Anyone switch from a R1200GSA to a 890 ADV R and regretted it? I’m asking for a friend, haha. I’ve been on the fence for a while. I’m just tired of picking up 600+ lbs with luggage and want something with more dirt capability. I test rode an 890 ADV R a few months ago and I felt like a hooligan on the dang thing laughing on the twistys and off road. I love how the 890 just attacks everything.
