A question to anyone who has swapped from the low 790 fender to the high 790 fender, or high to low.

I know there is a KTM low fender kit in Power Parts for $130 us. (part #63508910544)

I noticed that some of you that have gone from low to high, have kept the stock S fork guards and removed the upper part of the fender. Can this removed fender (part #63508010000C1 - @ $36.99) be mounted to the stock R fork guards?

There also appears to be an additional retaining bracket (part #63501072000 @ $30.19 us) mounted below the 790 S forks that the R does not have. What does this do? Do I need this as well with a low fender swap?

At about $36 per side for the S fork guards, it would makes sense to buy the whole kit. Any info would be appreciated.

Need to buy kit. The R fork guards are different.
Better access to rad etc for cleaning, you can actually see you front TYRE for low speed manoeuvring etc. Looks better in my view anyway.
