Since the 790 uses standard risers and standard style bars with no pre-mounted bar end inserts, the BHG-152 fits perfect. The additional spacer used on the right side is to prevent contact with the inner-most part of the lever that extends outward as the front brake is heavily engaged. Barkbuster are taking no chances here as contact with the hand guard would prevent fully engaging the front brake. Since I prefer a slight downward position of both my levers this clears the hand guard.

Also, re Barkbusters. I just watched the video above. The guy needed to add a spacer(!!) in order to allow the BB to fit(?). Really looks hincky as hell. Who else has fit the BB on a 790? Did you need to 'fit' the spacer to make these fit?

I'm using the Raximo shortys and did not find there to be any interference with the brake lever and the BB's - BFG-152 no spacer needed. I never fitted them with stock levers.

I am trying to decide IF I need to change out my handguards. So has anyone broken the factory handguards? And secondly who is the OEM of the stock handguards?

That depends. The stock hand guards usually survive a few drops, unless you're unlucky on the first drop...

But yes, sooner or later (more likely sooner) if you're dropping the bike or smacking tree's you will bust the stock guards. On the other hand if you're not dropping the bike then they will work fine forever as wind deflectors.

And the stock one's won't offer much protection to your levers. I bought the KTM one's they are made by Barkbuster and bolt right up.

Are those CRG mirrors on the Cycra hand guards? How did you mount them? I was going to order the CRGs with Rottweilers mirror mounts (http://www.rottweilerperformance.com/quick-flip-mirror-mounts-mounts-only/) but am unsure it they will still have room to rotate.

I thought I saw a spacer somewhere that goes between the front master cylinder perch to space it forward a little to get a better fit and brake lever position with the handguard. Does anyone know what I am talking about?

So you tapped right into the metal handguard to mount the Rottweiler adapter? Could you take another picture from the inside of the bars facing out? Thank you!

I purchased this spacer in the hardware area of Home Depot. Worked well.

I drilled thru the metal handguard and ran the mounting bolts into the threaded holes in the Rottweiller base.

I did the same with my Rottweiler mirror mounts and Cycra handguards.

For anyone worried their handguards might rotate, resulting in an exposed lever causing a bend or break in a fall try this - use teflon tape between your perch mounts and the bar so if it comes to it the tape will allow the perch to rotate about the bar versus breaking your lever. Also don't go hog wild tightening the perches down.

Do you know if the Rottweiler fold away mirrors can attach to the Pro Bends?

If you're talking about CRGs mounted on the Rottweiler mounts yes they do, look up about 5 posts for a photo. ;)
