Missed the WMRS ride this year but rode it last year and had so much fun I'm riding up that way this weekend. It was because of the WMRS past ride reports that I started riding to White Mountain.

Three of us will ride from central California through the Piutes Friday and ride past Burro Schmidt Tunnel on the way to Ridgecrest. Saddle time will be about 12 hours for the day.

Saturday we head to Trona, the escape route, Ballarat, Indian Guide Road to Panamint. Then South pass to north pass and I'm going to try to find the road from the north end of North Pass that goes over the mountains to the west and back toward Independance. Then on to Bishop.

Sunday we ride up Silver Canyon Road to Patriot Grove and then back down and head for Tiogas Pass and back to the central valley.

Should be a fun three day ride even with temps in the high 90's.

From what I know, all the gates on Silver Canyon should be open right? I have been told they close them once the rain and snow begins which should be November.

Looks like everyone had fun, as usual, on this years WMRS weekend ride.

Great to read about the weekend gents. Looks some fun terrain to see and explore.

Great video Charles, that track looks fantastic. Very nice of Desert650 to show you the track.

Whats the general elevation of Brown Campground?

I've been really busy since getting back. With the baby on the way and we ALMOST took an opportunity to move back to CO, but turned it down b/c I didn't have a job yet. And I changed positions which I think will have me down on the continent, plus another huge project I've had to bird dog (read: micromanage) lately, so I've not had much time at all. At some point I'll finish. Yes, this is weak sauce I know. Time is very slim for me these days- I've not even been to the gym since I got back...

No, but only because I've been lazy. I'll upload my folder and let you know. It wasn't a great photo weekend for me, but I did get a few good shots.

Yes, and thanks! We have a little boy on the way. As you might imagine, Karen barely shows at over 5 months now and still is as hot as ever.

We may end up staying all of the 3rd year here and since she is due in February, I almost definitely won't make WARPED next year, so WMRS was a last hurrah for me for a bit- at least until we get back.

Definitely knows where his muffin is buttered, and I can empathize with the time issue - I only have time to post one liner pot shots myself. :beer

no update yet. they say check back as summer approaches. they're not sure they'll have the open house due to budget cuts.

that is a highlight but I'd still do the ride even if they don't have an open house.
