Hey Dave.....once again thank you for keeping this thread going and Luke's memories alive. Jack and Buck
Well there's a mysterious Binky update in BOM facebook page https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1263842360656099 In which Richard claims episode 33 will be along in Dec if you listen real careful you can hear an agnostic praying or it cold just be Luke's spirit busting my chops !
Luke would never bust your chops, he'll merely fuck you over in a way that you won't understand until weeks later. And you will almost die laughing at the simplicity of the fuck over.
One of the things about getting older. People you thought would live on? Didn't! Hope to see you again .
For the amount of effort and expense, wouldn't those fiberglass ones have done the trick at about half the price?
Thanks Dave, I can thank Phil for the plate and also for the delivery. I sent the Tangerine Dream down to him in Victoria in march and it has been in quarantine ever since. As soon as the borders opened, he drove it up here to me in Queensland - 1600 km. How's that for service and faith in your workmanship? Apparently there are build pics in his camera that has frozen up - I will post them if it thaws.
Well after looking at the Tangerine Dream now possibly Old Yeller Kenny Roberts sidecar that Luke had some talent, that's a lovely designed chair. Now for a little welding fabrication information this work is heavier than a sidecar would need but the information and technique's good unless Strong Bad objects.
I was holding back and had to delete a couple of paragraphs with of critique after I caught the fact that he was using 0.250 DOM. I hate multiple pass welds on thinner walled material like 0.120 wall. I was going to say he should have used his fixture to normalize (heat treat) those arms after welding. His vids sure show how the fitting is the most difficult part of fabrication, the welding is the fun easy stuff.
