It was a long winter. My Dad's health has kept me home bound for the last 3 months. I am in dire need of a good ride and stress relief. I hope to be n the BRP again the last week in June! I did add a few stickers to the bike while it was resting.

Thanks George. He is not well. The only thing harder than what I have done the last 3 months is finally admitting that I can't continue to do it.
It is a long story, but we are hopefully going to get him into a facility where he can get better care than I can give him. A full time job then coming home and being a full time caregiver had taken its toll on me as well.

Hi Roger, so sorry to hear of your dad's decline and the crossroads you've reached. I can understand because my mom's 90 and we've moved her in with us because she can no longer manage alone. It's certainly a challenge for us and she's not happy that she's lost her Independence. And those crossroads may be coming up for us as well but for now we are still able to manage caretaking. So yeah, it's no mystery what you're going through. Lord be with you friend and help you deal with this. It's a depressing and depleting time and process. Hope you're able to get out on your summer sojourn; perhaps we'll get to meet up again. Peace bro.

I wanted to update this for the folks that have followed.
My Dad passed away on June 25th. It hasn't been the easiest thing for me to deal with, but I am doing it.
I did make it onto the BRP over the Labor Day weekend and will probably post some pics at some point.

Sorry about the loss of your father. Having lost both of my parents over the last 3 years I can relate with the emotions you must feel. For me riding provides an escape and a way of honoring my father's wishes. I know the last thing he would have wanted for me to do moving forward after his passing is wallow in my grieving. Riding is a great escape while still providing head time to process. Per my parents wishes their ashes are scattered together in sight of the BRP and I always physically wave every time I pass.

    Hugs to you Rock.

Thank you everyone . As mentioned above ..."riding is a great escape" ....

I did a 4 day labor day weekend trip down the BRP. End to end both ways..I think I am getting too old for this :)
I left after work Thursday evening and stayed at the Best Western in Berkeley Springs WV. I found I saved quite a bit by booking it through a 3rd party site.
It is right next to Angus and Ale. The service was a little slow but the steak was delicious!

I camped at Rocky Knob on Friday night. This pic is just across the BRP from the campground. It rained around 3 AM. Definitely the hardest rain I can remember camping in and it lasted a good hour. I got a few drops in the tent but I was happy with that.
