    It's real.

I like the different views you get of the Parkway from WRK

This would probably be better as a video.. the way the fog was blowing up over Craggy Gardens. For those that haven't been there ..it is not far from Asheville, but completely different weather. It is not unusual to see temps drop 10-20 degrees and weather go from bright and sunny to completely fogged in.

I think it rained on me everyday of this trip. I mentioned a torrential downpour while spending the night in the tent, this time it was just as I approached Linnville Falls. It was bright and sunny just a couple miles ago and then it started getting dark. I made it to the bathroom in the picnic area a few minuted after the sky let lose. There were folks picnicking that had to wade through 6 inches of water to retrieve their belongings. I thought I was going to have to move the bike out of the flood zone.

It has not been a good year for motorcycle tripping around here with almost daily raining all season. We're something like double the normal precip year to date.

I hope some of you got to enjoy the parkway this fall . Fall is gone and winter is here in PA.
I spent about a week on the BRP in October.
I wouldn't mind living in that house up there in the upper right corner.

For once I didn't have to ride in the rain on this trip, but the temps were definitely cooler than normal and at some points down right cold.

Sorry. I have first dibs on that one.

Edit: That sound a little selfish. Naturally, you're welcome to come visit!

I called this my sea to mountain vacation. Spent sat-tues on Chincoteague Island ...came home and left on the bike Wednesday for the BRP.
Because I always hit the towns like Cherokee during the week, I never realized how much they raise the prices on the weekends.
I called ahead and the prices were almost double what I normally pay. So I decided to just spend the weekend at the Mt. Pisgah campground.
Friday was beautiful, but Saturday the ranger warned me of high winds coming and a temp drop. In this pic it looks like the perfect weekend camping spot. Saturday night into Sunday the winds gusted up to 50 MPH and the temp dropped to 25 degrees.

Mother Nature has been a beast this year-California burning up, and constant rain here. First time in over 10 years I wasn't able to make it up on the BRP in October.

Haven't checked in here lately, glad to see you got an October ride in!
We visited Chincoteague in September for the 1st time, beautiful place.....but glad it was September!
Crowded enough for me as it was, would hate to see it in July or August!

Mt. Pisgah is one of our favorite campgrounds on the BRP. Nice Shot!

We camp there during July and August when it's hot in the lower elevations. Like to hike to Skinny Dip Falls when camping there, too. Found the CB500X works nicely two up on the BRP:

Nice.... we usually hike up to the tower when we are there.

My boy has a CB500X with an old school Africa Twin wrap. They are nice bikes and goes well with my Strom, this is on Mitchell.
