All my regular ADVrider chums were out on a two day ride this weekend, so I hooked up with some of my dirt bike buddies and headed for the "Mile Markers" riding area along the Carefree Highway north of Phoenix.

Started the day with an easy dual sport ride led by Trish (WR250) and followed by Ryan (XR600) and myself (LC8).

We stopped at an old MX track and goofed around for a bit. I even got my picture taken!!

    Big air...not.

We returned to the staging area pretty early. I got an invite from Sharon (KTM250F) to go ride some single track. Oh, I'm in!!

    Started easy enough.

We picked up a third rider somewhere on the trail, Rick (KTM525). Here's Rick taking the easy way down.

Here's Sharon leading the way through this rocky wash.

Rick went on his merry way and Sharon decided to step it up a notch. I sure hope that I FIT on this trail.

We met up with some more dirt bike guys at the top of this especially nasty wicked hill. They were quite suprised to see someone riding a 950 on this trail. I was quite suprised to be that guy.

    Great view from the top.

No relief in sight!! How long can this go on...

Here's the last challenge of the day. It's short and sweet, just like Sharon.

Of course, maybe the real last challenge was riding 35 miles back home after a 40+ mile dual sport ride and a 23 mile single track ride. I was pooped!!

The real trick to doing that jump, which you can't see in that picture, is to not overshoot the landing. I was damn skeerd!!

Great photos Nightstalker. Looks like you had your hands full with the 950 but from what I heard this weekend from your usual buds, you ride very well, and it shows. If you have a GPS trip log of your ride, please PM me. I look forward to finally meeting you one of these days.

damn! I ride that area fairly regularly (on a 450X) that is :super that you handled that stuff on a 950. Never seen anything bigger than a 650 out there.

BIg Air on the nice 950 seems to be one of the best shots around. Wonderful one..

I used to ride a little Honda 125 as a kid and really loved taking it on the trails. This week, I'm picking up a KLR 650 and I've been wondering whether I'll be able to handle it on the trails. Seeing you on that 950 makes me realize it's all in the skills of the rider. Beautiful photography. Phoenix is looking mighty green.

That looks so terrific, lets see if I can get out there in the winter. Came last Aug for 10 days but it was way to hot for me, didn't have a bike either. Enjoy :clap
