Tested the volts going to the battery this morning:

voltage at Idle was 13.0 and with the bike off the battery is at 13.1 and at Mid rpm the highest reading was 13.5.

New battery keeps draining but the bike will run on the dead battery. Think it’s a bad regulator/rectifier??

You should test both, here is a simple vid on how to do the rectifier and the next one down should be the ̶r̶e̶g̶...correction, the stator.... link

not so much questions as some updates and looking for some input:

Started tearing into my carb again. Not running well compared to in the past. 950 w/ Rottweiler ADV air filter, dual Akras, current jetting that worked very well in the past (172/175 mains, 45 pilots, 4mm floats, 2.5 turns flex jets).

From Rocky Mountain I ordered a couple of 42 pilot jets (N424-74C). I’ve been running the 45 size the past few years but am going to try the 42 and see if I can get it a bit more crisp on the low end off idle response. 42 is what I ran in CO but for some reason I could only find 1 in my spare jets. Also ordered a spare 45 just in case for a spare.

There’s also a starter jet in with these (stock 68 f/r). Haven’t heard of anyone changing this.

I’ve never played with any of the top side jets (there are three under the black plastic top cover). Anyone ever change any of these?

    Main air jet 40
    Air cut valve jet 80
    Idle air jet 50

Pretty sure here are/were a few of my issues:

    1) low TPS. Bought the little plug setup from TPStools.com (style 2 for the 950). Supposed to be between .5 and .6 when throttle shut. I was around .35-.4. Reset to .58.

    2) missing o-rings from the flex jets. Got new ones. I had one and trimmed down an oversize o-ring to kinda fit but now got the right size (Viton 1mm thick, 2.5mm ID per Flex Jet)

    3) floats- I think they have gotten out of spec with all the fiddling I’ve done in there. Will check the level this weekend.

    4) sync- anyone have a DIY method or tool to sync the two carbs? I’ve seen some DIY tools but might just pony up for a Motion Pro setup.

Still need to figure out the sizes of the 3 o-rings on each of the brass fuel inlets. Might be the same as the one I have for the capped brass 90 degree part but have heard they are different.

Not related but I also ordered 2 OE carb trumpets. With the Rottweiler “sausage” SE air filter you normally trim the trumpets to fit under the filter. But with the Powercell tank you can run the bigger ADV filter and full size intake trumpets. So I got two new trumpets. Also got all new stainless cap head bolts for all the carb covers (4 on the float bowl and 4 on the slide cover).

so over the weekend I'll clean the carbs and install some new bits. Getting ready for a few days on the Kentucky Adventure Tour in July. Also ordered a new Metzeler MC360 Mid Hard rear tire to try out.

Anybody have suggestions for a comfortable long range seat for an SE? I have a Russell on the 990 and love it.

Tried a Corbin from a SM didn’t work, got a Renzo but it’s not a huge improvement over stock. I have had a couple of guys reshape etc the stock seat but nothing great yet. My issue is I can’t have any extra height or width because the bike is so tall already. Alon is the rally seat taller?

The rally seat is pretty much standard height because it doesn’t replace the existing foam but it is made with longer side panels for those who want to add foam or even a gel layer on top of their existing foam and it will also work if you want to cut some height out of the existing foam.

@alongat does your seat come with foam or just a cover? I have a power cell tank on my SE so it has the SM seat. Will it work?

The super enduro seat kit is not designed for the SM seat that is used with the Powrlercell tank. I believe it’s big enough as the SM seat is dimensionally smaller but none of the stitched edges will align with the SM seat. After the Adv seat is produced, we will be making an SM version as well. Likely not until August or so.

Check your speedo cable. Had the same problem that drove me crazy, every other time after a wheelie the forks would compress, the speedo cable would hit the front rotor, bike sputters sometimes dies, then goes back to normal. Mine had a chunk chewed out on it.

I've been running a Tractionator rear and Scorpion Rally front on my SE with good success and decent longevity considering I have to pound pavement to get to the good stuff. Anyone run the Rallz rear on an SE, and if so, how is it off-road and on?

Just picked one up for my ADV, it is quit different from the desert HT it feels like a much stiffer carcass and shorter and narrower sitting next to the HT, running a 3.5 as a rear rim, both 140/80/18. When i put on a fresh HT it will eat into my mud flap, this looks like it should clear that now.

I haven't mounted it yet so hope some one will chime in on a review also.

i think my carbs on my 09 may be a little gummed up from the previous owner letting it sit.. i have some carb popping sometimes and also some cut outs after doing wheelies as well as some cold idle issues. once the bike warms up these issues seem to mellow out a little! Just to see where im standing......what gear and speed(mph) are you guys clutchin wheelies up? no power whelies in 3rd gear on my bike and once i get over 40 ish in 3rd gear no clutch wheelies! i have to clutch it up in 3rd at low speed!
