Hey guys! I just thought I would share this quick video I shot at the KTM rally back in September.

I’m sure most of you have seen the Pilot bags from Tusk by now but they had a few other new things to show off as well. They have a rackless bag called the Highland, a tank bag that seems unnamed, soft panniers that use the standard tusk quick release racks called the Olympus, and a line of dry duffel bags. I’ve been talking with some guys at RMATVMC and it sounds like the bags should be released around this week and for sure before Christmas. Don’t blow all your Black Friday money just yet!

Also, I promise I’m not advertising or anything and I don’t work for Tusk or RMATVMC.....just wanted to share.

Also thought I’d mention the warranty on these because it came up in the comments on the video.

They only offer a 45 day return policy on manufacturers defects. Don’t expect the stellar customer service you would get from Mosko. Hopefully they made these durable enough to last many years.

Yeah, I pressed them yesterday on warranty and the customer service person told me that there is no explicit, written warranty on the panniers. Quite odd, but also, for $139 USD its a steal!

I have no idea on these bags, but I have had excellent durability out of Tusk products for the last 15 years I’ve purchased their items from RMATV.

Yes that’s true.....warranty is kind of irrelevant at that price point. The other panniers are in the $4-500 range

I’m pretty sure the price of a replacement set, personal attention and and a little fluff is priced into the bags you mention

I like tusk stuff. They have a good broad line of products in a price range I'm willing to destroy.

I do remember seeing Mosko posting something on Instagram when they saw that rackless bag, kind of saying it was bullshit. It was hard to disagree.. I can't find the post now.

My experience with Tusk: I had a Tusk rack and large aluminum panniers on my 1190 which performed well for 20k+ miles when I sold the bike in Argentina. My thought when buying was- it's an aluminum box, to make it stronger you have to make it heavier. I can buy a lot of gas with the money saved over the Bumots I wanted. (Although, those things are gorgeous.)

I’d probably say bullshit too if I had a good hold of the market selling glorified backpacks with plastic plates for$500-$1000 and someone came in and undercut me by ~75%. I’d be pissed and wondering what to do. I’d probably vent on social media and then delete it also. Then I would secretly buy a set then nit pick it and point out all the tiny insignificant things wrong with it that aren’t really a problem so that people still buy my product.

Haha! Yea, that's what I meant, was hard to disagree with that from the perspective of "if I was them". From the perspective of my wallet, I'm excited for the Tusk bag to be available.
