Mappyclead, you are indeed welcome, even if it's on an 1150R. At least it's a Boxer!:rofl

    Let's get it together!:drums [/QUOTE]

Since an 1150R is welcome to join, would anyone mind if I brought along a friend who rides an 1100RT? He's from Germany, so that should count for something. :):

My friend's name is Karl Heinrich Barsch. I can't guarantee he'll be there, but I needed to know if its OK to bring him along. Since I live in Altamonte Springs, I won't be staying late.

Actually, he does. Probably from all that saurkraut he's been eating. But the reason I wasn't sure he'd be welcome is because he rides an 1100RT, not one of the list approved "Adventure" bikes.

No problem dood! If the weather's shitty, I'm gonna ride my RT over. What 'cha ride isn't the deal. Show up, meet some fellow riders, go for a ride, drink beer, shoot the shit and see what happens.

    No rules, see ya there.

Last I checked, RT's were considered family on this here site. Along with R's, RS's, KTM's, Transalps, Tiggers, Gran Canyons, and even K1's (only by virtue of their cool factor, cause otherwise they are LAME:evil)

How'd you know? He will keep you up to, if'n you are staying over. Unless you are camping in the backyard...

I was only kidding about the K1. That was just the green-eyed monster talking. I think the K1 is awesome and I'm looking forward to seeing yours in person.

I found my way to the Blind Pig Pub this weekend. Its at the intersection of New York Ave (S.R. 44) and Florida Ave., not far from the courthouse. Dirctly accross the street from the Blind Pig is a gas station, in case anyone needs to fill up.

I might not have many chances to catch up with the forum from now through Saturday, so if you are coming, I'll meet you at Huddleston's Blind Pig Pub on Saturday at high noon. Please make sure your bike is gassed.

I'm riding a Mandarin 00 GS 1150 with BMW System Cases.

I'm planning on eating lunch there and then riding with a return to the Kraut residence around 18:00. Looking forward to seeing you folks Saturday...

I'm headed south Friday morning. Stop in Lake City and then to Daytona.

    See ya on Sat.

Anybody know of a room or share one?

My cell phone is 706 273 4954. Sorry don't do camping, 20 years in the military cured that.

    Bob Collins

I've been on the road for work for some time & didn't know there was going to be a gathering. Couldn't make it anyway though. I was heading North in the company van & had to watch all the bikes heading south. :splat

I'd be interested in a getting together in the future though. If it's on a Sunday, & on pavement, the wife might come with her Monster too.

We went for a short ride Sunday down to the Art Show in Celebrations. It's been so long since we've had time to ride the batteries had trouble turning the bikes over. If that isn't a sign that we've had the wrong priorities I don't know what is.

We can definitely get together for another ADV Rider gathering. Since our prime riding season is just getting started, I would like to get feedback as to when and where.

We have several riders in the central Florida area as well as members from Jacksonville, Sarasota, and Jupiter. What we need is a central location for all riders to meet. Nothing fancy, just some good riding, good eating, and a nice place to camp.

You guys provide the location ideas and I'll work out the logisitics.:ear

    Hi,
I just found this FL forum. I'm in Tampa. I'm good for an occasional ride. I moved here from Wizzzconsin and did a fair amount of dirty roads. I haven't done any sandy roads yet. I heard north of me is the Withacalochiee (sp?) area and there are some trails. I just keep thinking I'll end up somewhere stuck in the sand.

I did a 280 mile day ride a couple Mondays ago up around Dade City , Brooksville, and east of Inverness. I actually found some small hills and curvey roads!! I Blasted north on the SUnshine Parkway out of Tampa. I didn't make it up to the OCALA national forest but that looks cool too. Satyed mostly in the Delorme map 77 and 78 quadrants.

    happy riding!!
