Pending getting the 690 tuned, was planning on wheeling the 505 out of the shed for a ride this weekend. Hasn't been ridden since about January 2017... on the last ride it broke the starter decomp actuator and chewed the exhaust cam lobe it runs off ( unbeknown to me at the time).
All has been fixed, I'm about an hour of work away from having it ready to fire in anger. Countershaft seal repair kit, tidy some wiring, chain on, oil and fuel in.
Thinking I'll head to Tanjil to a mates shack this Saturday for a snow ride... pic above he sent me yesterday from his driveway. May need to * cough* take a sickie this week to work on it. Too damned cold after work to spend time in the shed.

I need another big bore in the stable.

I'm now a big fan of 250 4t in the tight stuff, but I miss twisting the throttle and having exciting shit happen...

Hey that was an early 90's Suzuki and I was trying to stay true to the styling of Suzuki at the time...

They might have been hideous colours but the bikes of the early 90s bring back some good memories.

Seeing as I'm dressing up the old 690/pig/grandads axe with new mechanicals, I've now found a local bike graphics place that reckon they can knock up those 2018 France 6 days colors to suit. And I've had a look online at JTR at a set of new shiny wheels. . blue hubs or gold or orange? Current rims are scratched and bent, looking very well used.
And here I was saying I'd better pay the taxman before I spend more moolah on bikes... lol.

The orange rims do make the KTM original colour schemes "pop". :choppa

... but if you do go with the FRANCE 6 Day's decal kit... some "husky blue" ones :deal would probably look trick...

Well... that's about all for my :0-0 exterior decorator :choppa tips for the day... :D

Sheesh Richo, you’re saying you have lost your enthusiasm and here you are talking BNG, I’ve only just put the carby back on the Huski. 12 months after I pulled it off. I reckon you should look up “Lack” in the old Webster’s mate, although you did preface it with “General”. :)

Ha ha, I have sudden bursts of energy.
I had the 690 engine built in Feb and was excited about getting it in and running... then it sat on the bench in the shed for 5 months.
The 505 last fired up in 2017... the engine took 10 months to be repaired once removed from the frame. . It's been together for 5, still hasn't been started with only minor things to do.
Part of the problem is I have the 6 days, the f800, SE and the 660 all needing to be ridden, which they have. 5 weekends in a row recently. :)
However, tomorrow is looking like rain, so some quality shed time may be in order to do all those small jobs.

    Winning. Enthusiasm found :)
Quality shed time today. Uninterrupted too !
And.... it runs, with a bit of a fuel leak from the tap on the tank, and the brass inlet bezel on the carb. After 2.5 years of being in bits, I guess that had to happen. We'll see if the seals soften up a bit now they're wet.
    Almost scared to ride it.....
    20190818_175238.jpg

And I managed to wash the others. Happy days, clean shiny bikes..

I got the Huski started today and guess what? Fuel tap leaks. Let me know how you fixed it Richo, it’ll take me another 12 months to get around to it.
