The wife and I covered 725 miles in a big loop around VA. Down to Lynchburg across the "southside" of VA to Surry county. took the James river ferry across the river and then the Colonial Parkway from Jamestown to Yorktown. Up to Mathews and New Point Light House. Then to Urbanna and Tappahannock. In Tappahannock Lowery's Seafood is a great place to eat!!!

Here's Cub Dam Creek on the Colonial Pkwy- Lt Custer took a detachment across the dam during the battle of Williamsburg in the Civil War.

We then headed to Stratford Hall the birthplace of Robert E Lee. Later, we stopped by the memorial of George Washington's Birthplace. Heading up the road towards Fredericksburg, we went by the small memorial of James Monroe's birthplace.

    Here's Stratford Hall

we had a great lunch at Sammy T's in old town Fredericksburg. Then over to Sperryville and the Squid zone. Stopped there trying to miss some rain. But finished the ride's last hour getting a little wet.

We'll have to eat at Shucker's in Urbanna next trip and check out Reedville and Tangier's Island in the middle of the bay.

A great deal of history in ole VA. It was fun riding through that country on Memorial Day weekend.. :D Ton's of bikes on the road due to the Rolling Thunder and great weather.
