yeah we figured that, We hvae both trekked around Thailand and other bits of asia before and you can get everything you need pretty easily anywhere

Hmm as for Gear, I'm taking over full pants and a jacket, with the liners. Only thing I dont have is a proper set of MX boots, but I'm happy to compromsie with that.

Any tips for north Luzon, some must see places or an ideal route to ride for about 2 weeks? Also, where can I get a detailed map?! we wont be taking out GPS over, so I hope we can buy a map :\

In 2005 I assisted 2 Aussies, who rode the Phils in 4 weeks doing this route. Who eventually became my mates!

    This route covers 1,450kms loop

You can try the Sierra mountain loop to Baler, Aurora

Or do a loop to the Mountain Province

And exit somewhere to Ilocos passing this All terrain off road

While in the Mountain Province it is a must to go and see

    Sagada, Mt. Province

The Banaue Rice terraces in Ifugao

The Must See Places while there....

That's great! If I will be free, I will try to hook up with you guys.

Just lemme know what your itenerary.

Must See Places in Banaue Rice Terraces:

Tourist Spot 1 - Trade Center

20 minutes walk from Banue Hotel is the center of activity.
    Wider variety of Souvenir shops.
Saturday is Market day. usually starts from 7:00am to 6pm.

    Tourist Spot 2 - Tam-am Village

About 240 step down from Banaue Hotel.
Interesting to see are the bones of their
    ancestors, bundled, preserved and wrapped
    in colorful hand woven blankets.

Tourist Spot 3 - Bocos Village

One could find interesting huts adorned with
heads and horns of carabaos and skulls of wild pigs.
These ornaments reveals the welath of the families.
Here the villigers keep their most sacred ride idol (Bulol)
in a rice granary. The Bulol is exposed only during
harvest time and calls for a lengthy rite of bathing the idol
with the blood of animals. Visitors may see/photograph
the bulol only with the consent of the owner.

Tourist spot 4 - Poitan Village

One could find here the magnificently lined huts on mountain
slopes. You could see the old legendary "stone post" protected
and idolized by the village people. Have the chance top see the
most sacred idol of th Ifugaos, the "rice god" - protects the grains
in the granary. Find here weavers / carvers too.

Tourist Spot 5 - Guihob Natural Pool

Aproximately4 kms from Banue Proper or a 45 minutes
hike from the town center. Ideal place for picnics and for
a cool refreshing swim in a crystal clear spring water
coming from a small waterfalls within the pool area.

Tourist Spot 6 - Banaue Viewpoint

20 minutes traveled by car/bus from town center. A
perfect spot for view - top of a plateau great taking
    pictures of the rice terraces.

Tourist Spot 7 - Hapao Rice Terraces

Walled terraced built centuries ago. It is
believed that this is the origin of the terrace
culture of the Ifugaos. Located 9kms from
    the town proper of Hungduan

    Tourist Spot 8 - Banga-an Village

An alternative for those who can't make the 2 hour
hike from Batad Proceed to the village of Banga-an
2kms.. further at the junction leading to Batad.

Tourist Spot 9 - Batad (The Amphitheater like Terraces)

The trip to Batad practically takes the whole day and is
recommended only for strong hikers. From Banaue, it is
approximately 16kms. 12kms of which can be travelled
by transportation, the rest is by hiking on the mountain trails
    - a 2 hour hike.

Tourist Spot 10 - Cambulo Village

It is an hour and a half hike from Batad taking the shortcut
trail. The alternative route if from the National Road of Kinakin
by passing thru the Barangay road uphillto the saddle,. then
walk the trail downhill up to the village. This take 2 to 2 1/2 hours hike

I got your PM. And now checking the waether and road conditions in the mountain province.

Sorry I missed your call to my mobile number. I was in a meeting here at work. I recommend that you send me a SMS / text message. In that way I still get your message even if I wasn't able to answer your call. It will be easier that way for me to see and reply if i can't answer the phone because of meetings, etc.

Please update me by text of your location or happenings there so I can update the thread. And it will be easier for me to know where you guys are and maybe zoom up where ever your will be.

Enjoy, have fun and be safe guys!!!:clap
    Cheers!

I just got a text reply from LAS VEGAS restaurant owner in Banaue, Ifugao. And a text from my friend who own a motorcycle repair shop at Abatan town along Halsema highway before Mt. Data Hotel.

There are no reported landslides or black roads along the way. From:

    - Baguio
    - La Trinidad Vallet
    - Halsema highway
    - Highest Point
    - Abatan
    - Bontoc
    - Sagada
    - Mt. Polis
    - Banaue

All roads are clear. There maybe some dirt on the roads, but, they are all passable.

There is rainshowers in the afternoon though.

    FYI

Distance and names of town along Halsema Highway in the Mountain Province.
