Turning off into the canyon road
The end of our little detour, time to decide if we should go further or turn back. At the end we decided to turn back and get back onto DN 75, it already started so well and we certainly didn't want to miss it so we got a double treat of riding the canyon twice.
It's not hard to see why we run out of space on our video cam and needed to make a quick stop.
Back on the road
So basically we were back where we had started off half an hour ago or so and after the great ride in the canyon it was time for a little walk, well, it was supposed to be short. The guy selling the tickets said it's like 100 metres to the cave and once we got walking and Sheldon saw the stairs he kept asking if I'm really sure that's what he really meant or maybe it was 1000 metres. As you might already know the stairs aren't particularly favourite Sheldon's thing. At the end it must have been around 100 metres but uphill. When we got to the cave and walked inside the uphill walk was worth it. There were even bats there and when everyone left and we were there by ourselves we could even hear them.
Back on DN75 and a bit more riding before stopping for lunch
Time for lunch
Dzień dobry! The pictures from Canyon Road looked great and it's great you got to ride it twice.
I saw this and thought he must be giving you more than 2 minutes now
Dzień dobry and thanks, but to be honest it looked even better in reality, that's why we kept going and only turned back when we realised how far we've gone.
Well, let's not get into details here
We finished lunch, hopped back on the bike and it wasn't far away when we stopped again. This time we rode past a biker sitting in front of a shop and turned around to say hi. Peter is Dutch and has just started his own trip from Netherlands. It sounded like he would be travelling way faster than us, he had only 3 months to do a lot of countries and the main aim in Romania for him was Transalpina and Trasfagarasan and then we would be off to Russia. As you might have already noticed our plans can change quickly and so they changed today too. We decided to keep riding with Peter and ended up in Sibiu where we found a really nice and cosy place that was our home for the following few days.
Your photos are outstanding Ewa. Such a beautiful part of Europe, Romania. Thanks for your excellent blogging; it's great to hear from you again.
