It felt like spring here in Western NC this weekend. As such, we decided to take a ride down Horsepasture Rd to beautiful Lake Jocassee. We avoid driving on paved roads since I’m a new rider and I promised my mother I wouldn’t ride on the road. So we trailer the bikes to the parking lot and ride the gravel road down to the lake. It is open to other vehicles but the speed limit is only 15 mph and people seem to be very careful and respectful of riders. This was only my 3rd ever ride on my bike and I felt really confident! We had a wonderful time stopping at the overlooks and lingering by the lake. My best friend followed us in her truck and took pictures and had a pretty good time herself!
