Nice setup you have there. Best of luck and have fun. Be aware that you will run into extreme heat in CA, AZ, NM, and TX. I'm in Phoenix, and it will be around 115 degrees F here in less than a month.

Smallest bike that will get the job done is the way to go, IMO.

Great ride & great choice of tool for the task. Big +1 on the cross-Sound ferry as well. Riding into the city from the N. Fork is always a blast. If I were 20 years younger I'd be trying to catch up with you. (OK....40 years younger) You're in for a summer that will stick with you forever....trust me. Mine did. (summer '72)

This has "good time" written all over it. Looks like you pass close to Savannah,Ga with the Savannah College of Art & Design. Great town to enjoy. Look forward to your adventures and will try to catch you in this area. Ride safe, Grin big.

Let me know if you end up passing near Elgin, IL.

Decent pub downtown, use of a futon mattress, and a full fuel tank are offered.

Looking at your "planned route". Be sure to stop in St. Augustine Fl and after you leave Key West, either go back up the middle of the state or the west coast. After you get out of Florida,
If you get into the Biloxi, MS area, shoot me a pm. I'd like to learn more about the trip and the bike choice.

Subscribed. I've got a 2007 GTS with 31000 miles on her. Took some week long New England trips the past few summers, but this summer will be on my 13 BMW 700GS.
Solo travel on a Vespa is great - most people can't believe how far away from home you are. Heck, most people can't believe you can go through the NYC tunnels on one.

Safe riding and looking forward to reading more.
