Rest in Peace, Michael.
Rest in Peace
Good bye, Michael.... You lived life to it's fullest.!!!!
Goodbye traveler. My next TW ride will be in your honor....just have to recover from surgery. So sad you are gone, so grateful I got to know you through your posts and adventures.
awesome rider, even awesomer rider. Kick this cancer thing in the head a couple of times and then head down my way and I'll buy you a few dozen beers and pick your brains about taking small bikes to ridiculous places
Your upbeat spirit in the face of adversity will always be an inspiration to me. The world was blessed by your presence.
Macadam Drifter / Michael Kraus & Family --
You were an inspiration, both on and off the bike. Safe travels!
My condolences to Michael's family. His small bike exploits were an inspiration to us all. I can only hope to someday replicate some small part of what he did.
Rest in Peace Michael...
You showed us all that the greatest of adventures can be had by taking the road less traveled; in so many more ways then one... Your fantastic rides and unsinkable attitude continue to inspire us all... You will be sorely missed!
Ride on Macadam Drifter, ride on!

I met Mike last year while traveling, he encouraged me to join this forum even though I'm a "chopper" guy, we both agreed that traveling on any type of bike can be an adventure. I only spent a short hour or so chatting with him but he was a very great person.
Thanks for sharing Michael. I am glad that the pain and weakness are gone... Your adventures will continue to inspire us to take big trips on small bikes and share the tale. Rest in Peace Macadam Drifter, you live on in our hearts and collective spirit!
An inspiration indeed......rest in peace.....
May you have fair winds and following seas Shipmate

RIP, and fuck cancer.
My condolences to his friends and family.
I found this RR for the first time today, was tickled with it all. Learned a few things, too. Laughed out loud some and smiled a lot.
It's all so fleeting isn't it
Truly some sad news to hear. He inspired me with his adventures and will be missed.
Loved his tag too: The TW200 is slow but the Earth is patient - Macadam Drifter
Any question sent his way he was most gracious to immediately respond...and finished up with followup PM's. Always with a most positive attitude, no matter his pain and suffering. His ride reports were an inspiration and will be missed by many...long lives his Ride Reports...
He so proved that it's not the bike but the adventure.
He and I emailed about doing a trip way up in British Columbia but it never happened due to his illness.
If ever there is a "Ride Report Hall of Fame", Michael will be sitting on the front row.
