for great RR.
I waited too long to check back in on this thread. Shocked. So sad, but so glad he got out there and rode, and enjoyed, and shared it with us. Godspeed, Macadam Drifter.
Just revisiting this ride report as I now have a TW200. Very saddened to hear of his passing. What an inspirational guy!
I heard a saying once, "if there are no dogs in heaven, then I want to go where they go!" I suppose similar things could be said about the ADV riders best friend, the humble TW200. Safe travels in a better place, rest in peace Mike.
Sad to lose loved ones. From reading this it seems he enjoyed his time on earth.
As a four wheel traveler who has been a few places in the southwest and other ventures elsewhwere this RR was awesome. In the past few pages I started to have a feeling in my gut that Drifter's cancer would be the reason all the pics are gone. Even without the photos the report was amazing.
The spirit of the ride brought back one of my favorite quotes:
A camp proper is a nomads biding place. He may occupy it for a season or only for a single night, according as the site and its surroundings please or do not please the wanderers whim- Horace Kephart.
Wander on sir.
A RR & story worth reading.....
Great guy, sorely missed...
thanks for giving this a bump.
A bit late, but it had been posted on Wikipedia and the TW forum since his passing:
Would you mind posting the wikipedia link?

"So here I sit, soaking in the suns early morning rays and block out the traffic noise, but the sense of people in a rush on their way to work does not go away, I guess thats because this voice inside me is telling me its time to get home. " RIP MIKE
Came across this masterpiece last night. As a TW owner for nearly a year now (10 days away), I thoroughly enjoyed Macadam Drifter's trip RR....... as if I was on the trip as well! And, this not being able to see the pics since they're gone for good I guess?
Been a few years now, but RIP & GODspeed Mike!!
