of course i had to get married to start the honeymoon right ? so .. off we go to my wedding ..

    The venue
    [IMG]

    bride makes an entry
    [IMG]

then she get fully decked up
    [IMG]

after which we have to perform the marriage rituals (a lot of them)

we manage to have some fun in between
    [IMG]

then i said enuff of all this stuff and tried to elope with my girl
    [IMG]

but they were smart, they called us back and formally "handed over" the girl to me
    [IMG]

    now its time to eat
    [IMG]

generous amounts of food are devoured by all the good people and my mom makes sure nobody leaves half full
    [IMG]

and because we were the lucky couple, we get to eat in a BIG leaf plate
    [IMG]

but you never know whats cooking behind you .. more fun right ?

Your pics are great Mr. Vicks. Thanks for sharing. I guess this is a ride report of another nature.

I love Indian weddings. As long as it's not my wedding, mind you. That's why I eloped. 4 years later, my mother is still after me to have a big fat Indian wedding. She doesn't believe that we're already married.

Anyway, I've always found it fascinating that Indian weddings always have common elements, whether they're Hindu, Sikh, or Muslim. Something to think about, I guess.

so, here we are, finally at the beginning of our honeymoon ride. We booked 2 night in a jacuzzi hut at the orange county resort on the banks of the Kabini reservoir in Nagarhole WLS. Our route would be :
Bangalore - Mysore - Nanjangud - Begur - Sargur - Orange county and return via Gundlupet - Malavalli - Bangalore.

so we start off and my wife being just acquainted to the fine art of long distance riding, understandably wanted to take a break.

and then took the opportunity to pose for a few snaps
    [IMG]

thats us newly weds on our maiden ride together

after some more riding, it was time for another bio-bum-hydro break at a nice spot on the road with a lot of Banyan trees which provided us good shade
    [IMG]

after riding another 30kms, we arrived at our honeymoon destination, freshened up and made our presence felt at the buffet lunch !!

then we spent some time lazing around and generally "looking at the place"

and before we knew it was evening and the sun set rapidly, giving us the chance to pull two chairs and gape at the scenery without a word being said between us. we were having our perfect honeymoon :1drink

next installment - day 2 at the resort & wildlife safari in Nagarhole forest.

Great pictures! And congratulations on the wedding. Having just gotten married myself, it is really fascinating to just see some of the cultural differences of such an event.

    hi jiminy,

a new enfield 350cc will set u back by 2.1KUSD and a 500cc will cost 2.5KUSD. The enfields have been in India from the british era when they were initially imported from Redditch (near london) for use by the Armed personnel. Later on they were popular among the men bcos of the thump and the feeling. But due to the onslaught of the jap 2 & 4 strokes, the enfields have not been able to compete much. Of late, an enfield is a kind of "lifestyle" statement for those who love the marque and enjoy easy, laid back cruising and hence they sell more than earlier.

me and 4 of my friends participated in the Raid-de-Himalaya in 2007 and one of us even finished 3rd in this rally.

ryan, its fascinating for us too when we see different cultures outside of India when we travel. I hope you enjoyed the pics. more to come soon.

sgtmike, thx for your wishes and we wish you a lot of happiness & prosperity too.
