I figured I'd dump a few pictures of my home built DR650 powered hardtail bobber. All fabricated in a garage by yours truly. Still not done, and I'm sure it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I have plenty of other bikes to munch miles on. This ones adventures may only extend around town...

Here's about how it's currently sitting. 90% done with only 90% left to go lol.

Here's a way more detailed thread if y'all have a bunch of time to waste ;)

That's pretty cool! Much more interesting than Suzuki's other 650, the boat anchor LS650.

Not sure how this would look but have you thought of splitting the single exhaust in to two at the head and having a pipe on each side.

As I said I like different and that would certainly be diferent plus it would look symmetrical.

I can't say I've thought much about that. It would be neat, but with the chain and carb it would be difficult to pull that off

    Nice fab skills.

Reminds me of my '61 HD Super 10 I use to ride to the swimming hole as a teen back in south west Colerain Township Ohio.

Just what was needed for the hood.

Was at a friends farm this summer on my 690 KTM Enduro and gave a friend a ride back to the farm house in shorts, shoes and T shirt only.

Felt so good without the gear and took me back in time 55 years to my Super 10.

Friggin love it. I've been following over at dotheton. The joint from the chainstay to the main frame is really cool. I don't think I've seen that before.

Excellent workmanship, no doubt aided by the precision of your “Starrett” digital calipers… :lol3

Jeez, I was dreading it when I read the title and first paragraph (too much time on the 'then I ruined a perfectly good bike' thread, but what a good looking machine you're creating. Keep it up and keep us posted please.

Much thanks man! A few people get a good kick out of that lol.

I spent a few years as a tool and die maker and a friend of mine who dabbles in machining got me those for my birthday one year.
I always got a good chuckle out of them.

I'm really glad you have started a build thread here! :wings
The beautiful work you are doing will inspire many to try their hand at custom building. :beer

And those who learn from you will never find their project in the "then I ruined a perfectly good bike" thread. :thumb

Looking for more progress reports and pictures soon :jkam
