Back in the early eighties there was a large old farm that had been sold and was being turned into a huge new community with houses and shopping centers.
Over by an old pond sat a 1926 American Lafrance open cab fire engine. I would have loved to haul it home but had no where at the time to store it. It looked similar to this one, but nowhere near as nice...
I'm sure it got hauled away for scrap.

I have a 64, and get this...……...there is a country style wedding venue near me and I approached the owner a few weeks ago. She agreed to pay me $75 per wedding to have me bring over the truck (Lilly), park it in the lawn and let her be part of the party. Tomorrow will be week 3 and the truck is a huge hit with the brides, photographers heck, everyone. Last week the owner asked if I could commit to every Saturday next year starting in May and running thru mid October...…….I excepted. My greatest fear is Lilly will be the prettiest girl at the party.
