That's a proper trials tyre then - not a DOT hybrid like the MT43 - be interesting to try that
It would want to be better than a Michelin Radial trials competition tyre from a few years ago then. Crabbing up the road at 60 k's in a straight line isn't funny after a minute or two. It was fine in slower going though.
That MT43 I got from you Hoots was a good tyre, until the bead failed (which I reckon was the fault of the tyre fitters not the tyre).
They were stock on the 3 fitty free ride from memory and I stuck with em ...
Flip em at 50 % and with adjusted pressures performance is consistent ( in my terrain ) down to f all ..tread ....bouts 8-9 psi ,, Std tube..
Great feed back from carcass ,, which is paramount to understanding exactly where tyre foot print is for technical terrain...

Last of the cool days , me thinks
Reminds me of the first time I did Wog Wog!
Thats gotta be ,what ,close to 40 years ago, Ampol did it first, I was in the next group, serious ride back in those days, man handling a bike down a cliff was a foreign concept in those days!!
Not with ampol ,
Situation normal ....
Gotta say the French tart / sherco sailed up with no assistance , and my trusty Dunlop trials tyre ..
Effing young people And. There knobbies,,,, , won't listen ...
Will some one shut that f#####g door and keep the wind out !!!!
Spring my arse - few days warm - now freezing - mumble fuck mumble fuck
The locals reckon the name of our village translates to "windy place", and I wouldn't be arguing with them. One of my shed rollerdoors got blown in in February. There's snow just up the top from where I am so the reports say. It looked like it was snowing up there late this morning eh. Cold and windy here too Baz. A nice day to be indoors.
Just booked another weeks leave to go up to Kingscliffe in late October. Might even drop in on the @Mouse
Welcome to my world.
Sounds like fun @Hoots!
Good to hear mate.
Yeah, Haven't spent much time in there
on the bike as I would like (normally in the 4wd) but keen to get back there myself. If your planning a sortie let me know, shoulder should be up for it... Been doing a lot of XC MTB to work on the fitness, really helping.
Back from a jaunt to the DSMRA AGM at Ellalong and then a loop to the TK Get Together at Tibooburra/Camerons Corner. About 6k. Plenty of good riding even if it was dry as chips in places. Thargamindah is a good spot and they have a stack of motorcycle tyres if needed. The Fortville Gate/Middle Rd loop north of Camerons Corner and Whompa Gate are great if you want to see remote expansiveness, but on a reasonable track.
Good to hear you got back safe and sound Doug, presume Phil too. I thought our combined ride to the AGM and back was a good distance at a mere 2K.......which means that 'loop' you mention went for like four thousand kilometres!
I'll bet it was 'dry as chips' in places - betcha didn't see much river water out west.....
Bumped into BMSteve at the local bakery yesterday on his way home from the Far Cairn with his son. Good to catch up and say g'day.
No posts for quite a few days and page 519 of this thread has mysteriously disappeared, did I miss something?
Maybe......I went back a page then forward and checked again, and this is page 518, so we haven't got to 519 yet it seems...you are a man before your time eh?
