Thanks @BergDonk, t'was epic indeed. Apart from a flat and a cross-rutted experience I pulled up ok, bike clicked just shy of 800km. Given my body had to ride the bike for that period of time I'm expecting to be pretty sore, but the pain is completely worth it mind you. Thanks for sharing Chakola again, 2nd time through and I'll be looking for a third!
Yes certainly an excellent adventure, thanks again. A great group of riders made the snow, dust and carefully planned route all the more fun. Thanks everyone for a great weekend and the huge effort taken to ensure that it went smoothly. A couple of flats and a broken front brake line were the only causes to slow things down for longer than picking up a resting bike, and were quickly and efficiently sorted. Lots of laughs and great riding. Too much fun Here's few pics from the ACT DSMRA Merimbula ride.
Yes thanks everyone for a great spitited adventure. Thanks again Steve & Sandra and not foregettfo Doug. Made it home safely. All good. Gerry
Yep another @BergDonk spectacular. Good fun and having Sandra with the support truck reappearing at regular intervals proved its worth when the brake line was amputated - and to feed riders whose pannier keys had ratted off the ring somewhere along the trail.
After their first trip on the weekend my Nelson Rigg soft panniers were back on the counter at CMC getting a refund. Lifetime warranty was enticing, cheap price, but the stitching came apart in several places and they were lucky to get home. I'll give the Barrett ones a go next and see how they handle the fun. Different mounting design looks more robust and an Aussie company that make great stuff. CMC accessories staff were great and ordered me a set from Barrett so thanks Shannon and Ben for the help.
Personally I have Nazbags. These are excellent quality with great service. Naz is a member on here and you can find her in the vendors section.
This Sunday the annual Marques in the Park will be held at John Knight Memorial Park, Aikman Drive, Belconnen. Bikes usually on the basketball court.
Well done all! I'm sad to have missed it. I likely would have lain my DL1000 down beside the Tripple on that same section of Badja.
and the Aus busking championships is on in Cooma again; http://coomamusic.com.au/category/australian-national-busking-championships Some music all about town, quite a good day if you like your music that way.
Yep, plenty of local ride destinations this weekend. It's a pity I'm off the bikes for a short while.
