I'm not fighting with you either...tried to reassure you while trying to carve space for my own viewpoints, which include partial agreement with JVB over some genuine excesses on lighting that are out there...while actually supporting you / your build, and joining in complaint as to the general thought we could benefit from a greater alternator output.

I just would like the 720 watts back from my '05...and if my LC uses much less now of that, so much the better...but I am sure someone can find some quibble with that simple thought. ;-)

Looks like we've both been drinking tonight? I certainly have been!

I had lights directly off my battery for a few weeks and always forgot to turn them off (because I use them during the day and I’m stupid). I put them on key side and installed jumping post on starter. Now I never need to jump.

My low and high beam covers my straight ahead line of sight well enough (HID). My aux lights spread out my field of view. At night, especially, I’m wary of vehicles and critters entering my path from off the road. During the day, they help with drivers changing lanes, even if it’s only a little flash in their side mirror. Six lights all aimed straight ahead seems wasteful and doesn’t leave the pilot creative/flexible options.

    Just phoning home! :)

Unfortunately, not a lot of updates coming because there's so many electrical improvements at once I'm really just taking my time and trying to get everything together in a way that's easy to maintain and clean enough a shop can look at it and diagnose issues. I don't want a rats nest under my seat.

Based upon the diagram you posted a couple of pages ago I would agree with your approach. Continued good luck with the build.

Can we get some sort of consensus that 3rd parties should start selling black bolts? Black heads would make these modifications significantly better. Any guide on how to paint these without chipping and looking worse?

Why no more 720 watts? Because all you guys want more horsepower and lighter bikes. Bigger stators rob horsepower and weigh more. Not saying wieght is the only concern but it does factor.

    Teaser for you guys.

We're still about 2 weeks out from Electrical work being done which I hate by the way.

I'm taking my time with it because I really don't want to yank off the luggage rack, grid and fuel tank again.

After that is done, I'll start the massive AltRider installation.

I feel like a Jeep Wrangler owner.

I don't see any issue with the shield and headlight guard I like the black shorty, a Lot, I hate big shields. Big shields belong on cars and people who hate wind probably need to drive a car... lol JMNSHO :-D

Oh, and interested in the dual cam set up...

I think he's actually asking about the part UNDER the short windshield. That windshield is the Machineartmoto "Slipscreen," which I also have and really love. The Touratech anti-glare screen is under the windscreen and sticks out more & further down than any windshield, resulting in the lineup issues in his pictures (https://touratech-usa.com/shop/Anti-Glare-Cockpit-Shield-BMW-R1200GS-ADV-Water-Cooled).

That said, I don't think it looks bad from the front, Adam. So if you like the functionality, I say go with it!

Those are my around the house shoes! :) regarding the cameras, it's going to be great that when I'm just commuting, I can leave the GoPro at home. I keep it on for safety around town and it's not very aerodynamic and booting it up and recording is a pain. I think this'll give me more safety that I need assuming the cameras can pick out license plates.

...well you should see my other windscreen :p The shorty is my 80% screen of seat time (not miles) when I'm on long tours (multi day trips) or it's super cold, I'll run the touring screen (Ztech touring deluxe) so unfortunately, you'll see both on the new bike:

I think I'm going to dremel a tiny bit into it so he AltRider guard fits in there snuggly. the AR guard is being pushed down a bit which isn't too big of a deal but it looks weird from the side:

LED's when used help .. they remove quite a load.

I am not sure why they do not have a small wind powered generator in the mix (The bike is always going to have a wind force against it .. or solar).
