Hello dear FF's. After converting my rear rack in such way that I can now securely and enjoyably carry the kitchen sink in my trips all in one suitcase (se below how it looks), I have been struck by what appears an obvious unaddressed moto traveler's need. Since the 58 Liter case version can weigh easily 50 lbs when full with wine or bourbon bottles and other paraphernalia that make trips enjoyable, I'd think it would be quite sweet to be able to simply set it down and drag it to the destination if it had it's own wheels, like most luggage does. Kind of like this: If anyone has done this and can share what materials were used, where they procured them, and how they attached the wheels without weakening the case or making it too ugly, it would be much appreciated. Mods kindly move this to JM, as you see fit.. Thanks in advance!
What about adding a topcase mounting plate to something like this? https://ae01.alicdn.com/kf/HTB15bJ7...r-4-Wheel-Rolling-Cart-Travel-Accessoires.jpg
I thought of using something like it. I'd need it to be quite small and easy to pack along and not add a lot of volume to my overall luggage. Four, or perhaps even just two small, inconspicuous wheels added to the actual top-case, maybe bolted on, and then just a leverage handle be it rope or a telescopic stick, would be ideal, I think.
I posted the first picture I found. I bet there are smaller, my daughter had one for her school backpack, or better said, more packable because the top case ain't small.
Keep us posted about how it ends. I'm not using top cases for now for the lack of portability. I switched to soft luggage.
