hey Tony..If you mean the area where it turns into a circle and you can go straight along the river or right up the hill? Left takes you to veile pond rd..great ride!! and straight takes you to Hickory hill mnt in warrensburg, that is if im understanding where you mean?... i have explored that whole area pretty in depth over the years..

just saw BRYONJETs post..he probaly knows the Bear slides (luzerne along the hudson) area better than i. also i forgot to write that both trails do eventually end with posted signs (like Bryonjet said).. that said.. a guy i ride with said he knows the owner. Then some turns into national preserve state land.

Im always up for a ride!!

Ah.......,Bear slides.I broke many of laws up there when i was a kid!I remeber a guy that would go there every year for labor day,and would bring a Z1000 with a Honda 250r rear end, flat tracks and all[sicky].
We should do a dual sport run for the upstate crew.Make it yearly.
    The Trans Adirondak Trail?
Theres enough of us here to do it.Maybe meet for Americade at Lake George Resort campgrounds, ext 24 I-87,[base camp],and do a two day run?I go there every year for Americade, tent site[2 tents]for the weekend is $54.They have a bar and a good cafe, and a van that go's to the villige every 1/2 hour till midnight.Theres always space,we might get a deal.
Anyone interested?Anyone will'n to map a route or two.
I don't think it would be hard,we can do it all by email.

Another area DS rider. Tonymor told me about the thread, I'm his bud on the Wee. I'm up for some exploration. Hmmm, that DR 350 is looking better.

    Well,Americade is June 6th.
I've never got something like this together before,if you have please speak up!
I've notice there guys from farther north then me[Wynantskill]who will be better at planing a all day route.
If theres any trail rider clubs, maybe they could put it together.
The way i look at it is,pick a time and place to meet for days ride.Figure a route print up route sheets, plot GPS,and RIDE!!!
Everybodys responible for there own shit.Get together meet some new people find some new trails, and have a good time.
    Input please!

Well now we have to come up a route!
What ya got?I know contibear was post'n some nice places, maybe if he's still read'n this post we can con him into help'n out.
    Or anybody else,any inmate.
Maybe its time to show everybody that the whole state of New York isn't the city!
If we get the route down, then we'll just have to see who wants to ride.
There should be alot of riders in the area that can make it.
Vermont, down state,Mass, even our ride'n bretheren in the great white north.I know theres always alot of guys from Canada at Americade.

How about something like a southern adirondacks ride the first day ending in lake placid, saranac lake or tupper lake region? then day 2 northern adirondacks?? or..whatever works for everyone else.. we have a few months to plan the details.

Being a dual sport ride maybe we should get as much of both as possible? but at the same time maybe try and keep to non-technical stuff like dirt roads and easy logging trails so Motards and bigger adventure bikes can go too?
im easy..whatever the majority of us wants...:1drink

That sounds good to me.If i'm going i'm not trail'n the MX bike,so no single track for me.Switch'n up between alittle pavement, and gravel, dirt roads and some frie roads sounds good.
I'd like to just load up the DR and play the hand i'm delt. You know map a route and play it as it comes.:D
