Have a look at Keese Mills Road running from Paul Smith up to St. Regis Falls. This was closed to public traffic until about 4-5 years ago. Twenty miles about half of dirt and gravel through the Park. At least five miles of no houses. (I know, I blew a tire there).
Look at Slush Road to the north off of there. leads up to McCullums road which will bring you back to Route 30.
There are a lot of roads I don't know and are not well mapped, but appear on Mapquest. Could be a lot of fun.
Cool been a long time since I rode out there. If you happen to be out that way again could you check out a road for me? Used to 4x4 this road by Rainbow lake called kushaqua-mudpond rd that runs from County hwy 30 to Hwy 99 along the river. Used to be pretty torn up and desolate. I'm hopeing it hasn't changed too much.
I am going to be around the areas of Canada lake and Piseco Lake this weekend (Route 10). Anybody know any cool dirt / seasonal roads around there to rip ?
Watertown Here.......scoot=DRZ supermoto.......but i have dirt wheels too....
avid tug hill rider.....
Nobody has added to this thread in awhile. Are these route still ok ? Any problems ?
Any info on tracks and routes for bigger bikes, 800GS, would be great.
Hellooooooo anybody out thereeeeeeeeeeee ?
Sorry we might be too busy riding to answer!
Keese's Mills Rd/ Blue Mountain Rd (on St Regis Falls side) had a bridge out halfway down about 2 weeks ago, unknown if it is finished yet.
As far as routes most of these should still be good, you may also want to poke around in the Regional Forums -> Northeast and Greater Flugistan there are several ADK threads kicking around there.
Any particular areas you are interested in??
check out this thread as well http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=867158
Signs are still up for the bridge out on Blue Mountain Road as of yesterday.
GPX conversion of the first page South West ADK trail from Loweville to Little Falls.
Is there any way to get a useful print out of these trails that you could really use to ride by?
I guess the easiest way would be to just download the topo maps from USGS and hilite the trails by hand.
What do the different colored trails indicate?
Beautiful , dont know when but I will do this ride one day. Thanks
Anyone riding anywhere interesting on Thursday? I got the day off work and interested in riding in a small group or so. Anyone interested PM me.
Tagging in... seems like a pretty old post... but some good info... and GPX files... =)
Leaving Ohio Wednesday headed for Chestertown area the long way. A group of 4 of us with big bikes but not afraid of lots of off road. We've done some pretty stupid stuff with 500+ pound bikes before. That's why you always bring a friend or two! Spending 3 nights and at least two days exploring plus the days coming and going. Headed for home on Labor Day. If anyone would like to tag along or better yet take up on your favorite back road that would be great. I'm pretty familiar from spending a couple weeks a summer up there for the last 15 0r 20 years but my knowledge is just from closely reviewing satellite maps and then checking it out when I get there. Have gotten a few good tips from reading through this and thought I'd try to spring some life back into it. Will check out the other threads linked to this also. Thanks! -Brian
doing that blue ridge road this summer i believe it comes out up near deer trail lodge stayed there once has a great bar and grill set up thats where the pavement starts from the south
