Pre-registration ended, walk-ins (pay at the door attendees) may not get a rally-shirt. If and plan to attend, please shoot me a pm (we cook on site and it is very hard to accommodate walk-ins). No refunds (registration is transferable), and no discounts/free stays are given, for bringing your own food/booze.

    What's it all about?

Imagine 150+ ADV folks in the Mountains of Eastern TN for a long weekend, with some of the best riding in the east (dirt, gravel, twisties).... plus great company, a private resort (plenty of space indoors in case of rain), campfire, 3 great dinners and breakfasts, plenty of beer, and some bullshitting. What can go wrong? :lol3
Some random pics from last year: here - and here
    Whatcha get:
    Dinner on Thursday,
Breakfast and Pulled Pork Dinner (by Pork Butt) on Friday,
Breakfast and Jambalaya Dinner on Saturday,
    Breakfast on Sunday
about 18 kegs of beer :beer, root-beer, coffee, lemonade
    a t-shirt, a mug, and a sticker,
door-prizes and a huge indoor area and covered decks (in case of rain)
    RDV fee $77
Wednesday dinner and Thursday breakfast on donation basis

    History:
The Eastern Rendezvous is the oldest annual ADV rally, and the only one in the south east. It started in 2002 as a small traveling gathering, and Rick aka Party Boss turned it into an annual event known as the Eastern Rendezvous. Sadly we lost Rick in 2012. Nobody will ever be able to be such a great and inviting host like he was, but we will keep his rally alive in honor of what he started.

    One for the Boss :beer

    The Late Train rides again!

    Disclaimer:

I'm likely to start getting restless sometime before noon and will want to get out for some fresh air and a bite of lunch. Once again y'all are welcome to follow me but don't expect me to be a very good baby sitter or tour guide. :norton

Quoted below is my ride info from the past two years at this venue....I can't guarantee that this years ride will be the same or different but we are at the same place so they should be similar. I did a little scouting run yesterday but don't know how many more I'll get a chance to do before rally week so we may end up 'exploring' as a group.

As always, scouting pics end up mixed into my daytrippin' thread. linky 4/09

    Time:
    Departing at approximately 1030ish
on Fri, Sat and possibly even Thu...

    Place:
Meeting in the main parking lot down by the camp store.

    Terrain:
Mix of twisty back roads and gravel, steep, deep and narrow. Big bike friendly IF you're experienced riding one off pavement and at a brisk pace.

Standard rules will apply. Volunteers for relay riders accepted.

Big bike ADVENTURE rides! NOBODY GETS HURT ON THESE RIDES!
This ride is leaving camp for BIG ADVENTURE BIKES on as much gravel and cool stuff as you can handle!
YES, I've finally made up my mind! I'm leading a Friday ride for sure heading into Virginia into my back yard! I think everyone else is going the other way. Tons of hard packed gravel, soft gravel, and if it's wet slushy gravel. A lot of those poor quality paved roads over here too, with no center lines. Saturday depends on the interest, and could be different if enough interest.
Lunch may or may not happen?

Thursday: Dual sport ride. I'll be on a DRZ 400 with knobbies. Larger bikes and less knobby tires are probably OK depending on weather. A mix of pavement, gravel, and miscellaneous other surfaces. What those other surfaces include will be dictated by weather and group dynamics. The route could involve some log crossings but nothing a little cooperation can't overcome. Knybanjo rode a DR 650 through there. How hard can it be?

Meet 9:00 @ the bottom parking area to depart at 9:30.

Friday: Brown Mountain tour. Let's see how much singletrack we can bag in Brown Mountain OHV area. Knybanjo rode a DR 650 through there. How hard can it be?

Some people plan to truck over. Perhaps with some pre-planning, we can work out the logistics.

Brown Mountain requires a $5 day use permit.

Meet 9:00 @ the bottom parking area to depart at 9:30. That would put us at Brown Mountain OHV area at 10:30. Does anyone want to ride over? Crazy, I know, but you have a motorcycle and you're in Hampton...

There are services at Craig Mountain Farms. I will check out what they offer there. You can purchase your permit there. You can also purchase a permit at the Marathon Station at Jonas Ridge on Hwy 181.

I plan to pack a lunch and water.

Brought to you by your friends at the Moran Nation

We will boldly go where we haven't gone before; mostly! The goal is to see cool shit, old stuff and take a few pictures.

    The Friday Ride

This ride will begin promptly when everyone arrives at a place to be added at a later date. We will leave the campground and turn left unless it has rained a bunch. At any rate gas up on the way in. Mixed routes with back roads, gravel, etc. Small stream crossings may pop up if we find one. Big bike friendly, small bike friendly, Heritage Soft-tail classic; not so much. Two up probably not a good idea...

    The Saturday Ride
This ride will probably involve a run to the Snake, aka 421, and a stop in Shady Valley Country Store for the fried pickles. Big bike friendly, small bike friendly, Heritage Soft-tail classic; not so much. Two up will probably be OK but we will be moving at higher speeds over some fast gravel. Allowances will be made based on attendance.

These are all female friendly rides meaning there may be women riding and men riding like women. We will find places for big girl sit-downs as required. This is also new rider friendly for the most part, just be prepared for gravel. There will be riders of all skill levels so don't wuss out early.

We generally travel with a security escort, medical support and legal representation.

That's all I got right now.

I removed all of the ride rules; if you fuck up or break down you will be left for dead with only $3.00, a dress and a cyanide tablet!

BAD NEWS: Stone Mtn. has a new owner and we won't be able to ride there. He just bought the place and is concerned about liability issues. I'll be meeting with him to see if he'll allow riding in the future, but it will take time to work anything out.

Brown Mtn. OHV is our best option for a large group.
