meeting at the Blue Oyster in los angeles?
we DID used to go out and meet in Pasadina awhile back, but the place was WAY too small.
We need to find a place that is a bit more central with a larger area to congregate.... that would be fun.
Gee, I don't know, Pasadena sounds good to me
the real problem with that, is anyone south of the 10 freeway, if trying to get there after work, wont get there till after 8!
In all realisticness, that might be the most central place.
the last time socal riders got together was up in pasadena.... at the english pub... that's a cool place.... the fish and chips were delicious!!
Burbank seems to be centrally located, but I'm willing to ride down to Old Town Pasadena just to make this happen. Any restaurant with parking for bikes in the front, part of the meet is to talk about the bikes and we want them visible. There's Crocodile Cafe on Lake and patio dining (next to the sidewalk). We can park in front on the street.
The Norton guys meet at Burger Continental on Lake Avenue and they've been doing it for many years.
ZSlug at one time suggested the Crown City Brewery which is cool too, but I thought when I drove there last week, it's no longer CCB! I can check it out, but if someone is out there, pls. do so.
Sopascat is from Pasadudu, we need your help to scout the city.
Colorado, Lake, Green, Walnut, Raymond, etc.....
I'd ride up to Pasadena. And I'm with Posole; love fish & chips and Newcastle!
I'm up for anywhere, count me in
they all sound pretty fu.ckin good to me.
i say we change it up every month.
hollywood, burbank, pasadena all sound like good locations that are somewhat central.
i'd like to throw out to meet on
my bar ideas are
Bigfoot Lodge on Los Feliz Blvd in Atwater Village(right off the 5)
Jumbos Clown Room on Hollywood Blvd
3 of Clubs on Vine and Santa Monica Blvd
Burgundy Room on Cahuenga
errr theres a place in Burbank right off the 5 near Ikea sorta
Gold Room on Sunset Blvd in Echo Park
Short Stop on Sunset Blvd in Echo Park
Tuesdays at 8.30pm is good for Colleen and James, any city, BUT no drinking alcohol and riding or driving. I'd suggest a coffee shop with a patio and views of the bikes, it is essentail to be able to walk around the bikes with a cuppa and shoot the shit. We had tons of places like this every week night of the week in England when I was a lad. Mainly truck stops with large car parks but sometimes holes in the wall that were groovy for other reasons. The Village Grill in Claremont has become a motorcyclists hang out in the late afternoon, but it is perhaps too far for most. Crap we could just about meet at any McDonalds and have a good time but a place with 'atmosphere' would be cool. I am a lover of Newcastle Brown Ale myself, been drinking it since 1966 after all, but a couple of them and I think I am Rossi or Evel Kneivel, my tolerance is pretty high but my will power is AWFUL low.
Paging all TARDS, paging all TARDS....
We use to get a thing together down on Venice beach... seems to have fallen off the map lately
It's been a while, but this is another call to one and all "Thirsty Adventure Riding Dogs" in the Los Angeles area. Don't worry, if you're wondering if you are a TARD, I assure you that you are... at least enough of one to join us for little holiday cheer.
Re: Tucker's requirements, The Stand in Encino is a nice non-bar joint to hang out at. Gourmet Sausage & Dogs, and wine & beer if you insist. They had a bike nite for awhile, but now it's live outdoor Jazz on Thursday nights. And Dollar Dogs on Mondays.
The Stand in Encino is big enough, with a patio and parking lot.
More of a family vibe (kids, strollers, milfs ) and they DO have a few beers on tap.
I was there tonight. nice but not really an adv scene.
There is an ongoing Bike night at Universal City walk I heard about.
Been meaning to check it out, maybe I will next week.
there is a huge sport bike crowd there, 'rough riders' and other sport bike clubs night out in hollywood and at universal.
i would be down to go to any of these if we were sure we had a HUGE turn out(not as back up, but just as a good adv crowd), but i like the idea of a more lowkey place. kinda like OUR OWN bar.
even somewhere where they have SPEED channel on the tv.
Why don't we meet at a church? :slurp
They have large parking lots!
or a laundromat
If it's on a Monday night I'm IN. I'm at work on all other weeknights.
Hooters in Pasadena! They are pretty good with "biker" crowed. I used to go their with a sports bike group the second Tuesday of the month. They would block off an area in the front so we could keep an eye on the bikes. Guys would get their early and block off the parking in the front.
