Great photography, beautiful country, excellent commentary and a little bike drama to keep things interesting. I'll be following along. I hope you get the bike sorted and can concentrate on the trip. Cheers.

Thanks for the tips but I'm very sure now after riding back to Salento it's the Power Commander. I rode back trying a different map and it run much better. So today me and Brian and going to try some different maps and hopefully get one that works right.

Well I have a lot of catching up to do. It took a while to get things sorted out with my bike but it seems to be working now. I have been riding 5 days now with no problems and will get some pictures uploaded soon to share. Yesterday I was off/road in the mountains close 12,000 feet.

I'm staying in a small town called Uramita on my way to the coast. The internet is super slow and can't really upload any pictures. I stayed in Medellin last night and the ride here was super twisty roads with a mix of pavement and dirt. The Hotel I'm staying cost 15,000 peso's or $7.50 in dollars. Everyone is so kind to me and I get the feeling they don't see a lot of tourists like a lot of the places I have been.

I really have to thank Suzuki in Armenia for getting my bike going again at one point they had 5 guys working on my bike, nothing but great service there and also BC Brian for helping me out.

So what was the culprit that caused problem at idle speed?

What is it with Suzuki and stators? My OE on my DL 1000 went at just 16000 km. For years I used my 1400 Intruder for travel because it seemed to be more reliable. Then I had my annual good idea ( I have one a year lol ) and I bought a spare to carry with me. It was the Suzuki piece, but was a much heavier sturdier looking stator. Cheaper too. I knew if I had the part, I could always find help. Of course, not long after I had that brainstorm, I traded the bike.

I am really enjoying your RR! Great pictures as normal! A question if you don't mind. I have been under the impression that Air Canada would fly a moto from Canada to South America for $700US or thereabouts. Is that no longer the case? Thanks!

Well at the current exchange rate, $700USD might be close.
Like all flights the devil is in the details and charges.
Here are a couple of links with last years rates.

Is that a flat rate or does it depend on size and weight?

Raconnol, I recall reading AC last year stopped shipping motos to South America. And, the last line of the pdf you linked to said the program was over Sept 30 2015.
This website update of Aug 2015 includes this line:
"I called back and was again told Air Canada was no longer offering discounted motorcycle freight to any South American destinations as too many customers had trouble with customs at the South American end."
So it seems AC doesn't do moto transport to SA anymore.

We would need to phone the numbers listed to confirm if the discount is off, reduced or if nothing is being shipped at all.

Hope they keep it going for Euro destinations at least. It seems like a heckuva good deal.
