    Saludos Francisco,
Thanks for the offer. I will get in touch after I arrive. Do you know anyplace to rent a small scooter or motorbike? I'm flying down so won't have a moto to play with. Neil

    Hola Francisco,
Yo vivo cerca de Cholula así que somos prácticamente vecinos. Déjame saber sí nos podemos reunir y salir a dar una vuelta en moto!
    Saludos,

    Hi Francisco,
I live quite close to Cholula, so we are basically neighbors. Let me know if we can get together for a ride!

We live in Banámichi, Sonora where we operate a small hotel. I ride a 2006 Tiger, my wife rides a 2005 F650GS. Along with comfortable beds, we have tools and work space. The URL for the hotel is below

    Hi again noshoes

Well it depends if you are planing to be here in long term, maybe will be better to buy one cheap scooter, this part of the country is not common to find motorcycles for rent, Anyway let me ask to a couple of friends if they know someone who has a bike for rent.

    Saludos!

Inmate for a long time, have seen them come and go.
A site with wonderful Ride Reports and a wealth of information for anyone looking to travel far away places or on their back yard.:deal

I live and ride in Mexico City and sorroundings.

Because I´m an experienced adult (Old F**T), can give info about a lot of roads/places to ride, visit or stay.

I don't know much about bike hire.....and Mexico is a big place. Let us know what part you will be in or where you are traveling to or from and maybe we can help.

    Hola,

Coming down in Feb from the frozen tundra(aka-WI) to do some recon in the Lake Chapala area. Any dual sport riders on here in that part? Also, please chime in on thoughts of making that an early retirement base camp and potentially a new permanent place to live. Appreciate any info/ideas.

    Hola Francisco,
I'll only be there 3 weeks. I don't actually know at this point, if I'll have time to go riding. If I do, it will only be for a day or two, so buying doesn't sound like a good idea. Good suggestion tho. Thanks.

I was driving through down town Puerto Vallarta last week when I saw a suspicious looking character: A mid 2000's, red KLR650 with Colorado plates!! Not sure if that person is on this forum or not but I am from Colorado as well.Small world!

I do remember a guy that was travelling round the world on a KLR650 and cooking his way along.....No, literally cooking, on a stove, for a living:evil

    Greetings

Only been living in Mexico now for going on two years and have survived the topes, potholes, craters, and rocks on the roadway until today. Driving south on 200 out of PV on my BMW R1200GSA. Following a semi-truck with one car in front of me. Going up the mountain nice and slow when the car ahead of be veered to the left as to pass the semi truck on a serious curve. But in fact the car was swerving to miss large rocks in the road. I was able to swerve and miss one but ended up hitting another one at about 40 km. This was a large rock and would estimate it 8”x12”. Think I hit the edge of it with the front tire and it missed the rear? Stopped down the road when I found a safe place to pull over. Tire and rim appeared to be ok. Rode for a couple more hours and headed back home. Noticed the handlebars and the mirrors where a bit more "buzzy" than before. Thought maybe I was just being hyper sensitive. The bike did not shimmy or shake at all. Bike tracked well and could raise my hands slightly off the grips at various speeds and no shakes or shimmy. When I got home I put the bike on the center stand and used the steering lock. Placed a deep reach socket on end next to the edge of the front wheel and slowing turned the wheel. Appears to wobble out about 3/8 ".

Bent rim? If so does anyone know of a shop maybe in Guadalajara that is good at truing up spoked rims? I live in the Puerta Vallarta area and am not sure any of the local shops have the expertise for such a job.

A side note: A learning experience for me and an important reminder to not follow so close.

    Saludos
