I don't know. I'll see if Neil and/or he is interested. He's been in Florida all week.
HAVE to work?
So it's been a weird 4 months. I've gone from flash bang on my ass into a chopper to get my ass reinstalled, to laying in a bed watching YouTube until my juice boxes turned to french pressed Pete's goodness.
Looking to load my DR650 on to a trailer and cruise the Smokies for 500 miles behind one or more of my social icons.
NONE of that is a reality unless my friends and community stepped up and reinforced my tailwind.
I just want to say "thank you" for the energy and encouragement.
I wish I could, my wife has ACL repair this week.
Have a good trip. Be careful first time out! Watch the leaves in the corners.
No doubt. Drove the Fiat around some back roads up here on Thursday and it was so sketchy.
That would be, yes. He still rides FAST in the woods.
If I were in the area I’d gladly show you some awesome dirt roads in the Smokies. Nothing terribly difficult or dangerous. Just beautiful and dirt!
Best of luck with your continued recovery.
No worries Dan. He is in good hands.
I will do my best to bring him back north in one piece or as slabs of Jerky after the Bears gnaw on his ass for a hour or so while I look for him.
Three day riding with me he will also need mental therapy to go along with rest and relaxation.
I mounted my Snow Tires this morning.
I'm pretty stoked.
Being penned up has me wound a little tight. Looking forward to some helmet time.
Snow tires ?!
I canned my FB thing so I haven't seen your recent progress.
Last I saw, your bike was going up a ramp on a boat.
My main blog is here on ADV.
The vessel my bike is in is already at the port in Cartegena Colombia. I’m flying out of Brazil 10/31 first to Florida and then on to Texas to pick up the bike when it arrives in Galveston.
Then, weather dependant, either ride back to Denver for a job offer, or get picked up and driven to Denver if the weather’s bad.
Maybe after a few weeks re-indoctrination fly to Ohio to see a few family and friends and then back to Denver.
Work a few years and then bug out again. At least that’s the thinking.
Maybe Africa-Europe-India-Mongolia next run.
I do love riding the Smokies.
Since B-Mac is busting out the soft stuff tires I guess I'll put on the soft butt seat.
I wasn’t worried.
until you said that
Ha. No worries.
Look at you Bubbys with your high-speed communication devices hanging off of your belt. lol
Well after rolling about 5 miles in my bed last night I came to the conclusion that I'm not ready for this trip. Between a few logistical curve balls that popped up yesterday and watching YouTube videos of the Smoky Mountain 1K I realized I was being impatient.
I'll keep working out and when I'm stronger and my PTSD has worn off a bit I'll be out there again.
After watching some of the videos myself I think you are making a wise decision. There will be time to get back to riding when you get stronger.
Could someone link me to the frightening Video's that you speek of. I will be riding alone and you have got me all butt clinched and woriied now.
