Chaz and I are going to 'pre-run' a route on Saturday in anticipation of an easy 4wd group trip that I'm herding on Sunday. Saturday's pre-run is aboard WR250Rs. I intend to hit bunch of gravel/ dirt roads and a couple covered bridges and at least 1 water crossing of the Wakotomika (sp?) Ck near Bladensburg, then move north towards Danville and some more abandoned roads, water crossings, and the like. We'll do Stone Quarry if only to evaluate it for truck use the next day. Probably about 150 miles total and a good amount of stopping for me to take notes and such. Anyone that wants to come is welcome. Meet in either Danville or Martinsburg / Bladensburg Saturday AM.

I am looking at 2017-18 Kaw Versys 1K. I don't want the Newer stuff with all the rider aid nanny electro wizzardy that the new age riders that carry around a zip lock bag of Kale to eat during stops enjoy.:lol3

Or....Re-purpose my 2016 DL1000 V-Strom to a ROAD sport touring mount and get a 2021 CRF 300 Rally to keep my dirty needs met. It will do all of my ADV needs. It's just slower and lighter.:ricky

Brian, I have a 2016 1000 versys that I bought as a left over in 2018. It has given me real good service. 39,000 miles and only have to change oil and tires. I am with you that all that electronic do dads is for the birds.

My vote would be the CRF300. I may be able to keep up with that.

I love my 2016 versys. I've put 35k on it in 5 years. Only thing I will say is the rims are a known weak point.

do that! The Vstrom is an excellent ST mount. I think you’ll enjoy something lighter off road.

1981 Honda Twinstar - CM200 is up for grabs. Wife bought it a couple of years ago to learn on and was going to be family training bike but nobody is interested here .

If interested send me a PM for details and more pictures.

Just finished a 200+ mile back road romp with the wife. Lunch at Theo's Restaurant in Cambridge. Droped down thru Senecaville lake and back west thru McConnelsville and home. V-Strom set up for Street Duties for awhile.

Feeling pretty decent. Getting my staples out Friday. Been riding some, (shh!) Seeing the kidney specialist next week.
Even rode the bicycles about 10 miles Monday! All flat and slow. They have a community ride Monday evenings in Chillicothe. Good time.
