Mounted the Magadan Panniers on my CRF250L. I like how they mount. Certainly big, but not too big. I can fit all of my gear in them. If I ever really needed to, I could add a small waterproof duffel, but I’m not sure I would need that.

    Hello tobern,

Are you still satisfied with the panniers? any problem or disadvantage?

What pannier rack are you using? and what is the overall width?

    Thanks.

Has anyone mounted the Mk2's on a CB500X with the Rally Raid racks? I'm concerned with clearance from the exhaust.

I I can’t explain why I can’t find this.... what is the largest sized msr fuel bottle to fit in the thinner pouch on theses bags? Even though I’ve owned them for a while, I can’t figuee out which size to order.

    Thanks

MattF-which pouch? The pouch that's open or the pouch with the flap which is secured with velcro?

Are you looking for a diameter and height sort of answer?

Has anybody tried mounting the Magadan panniers on a Giant Loop pannier mount?
So that it is easier to take them of.

    Yes it works great.
I use straps around the bags. Go behind the two big straps that close the bags. They will stay level, secure, and you still have access to the bags.

@dirty_sanchez: the open pocket, thanks. I’m traveling at don’t have the bags with me. I was going to order a couple of fuel bottles and wanted to get the largest that would fit in the open / skinnier pocket. Thanks!

I haven't tried it, but would think the 30oz bottle would fit just fine. The MSR bottles are all the same width, give or take a quarter inch or so, and the open pocket on the Magadans is pretty big.

You can see in this photo that I have a full can of Motorex chain lube in the open pocket, which measures about the same dimensions as a 30oz MSR bottle:

A 1.5l Primus bottle fits those pockets

My Mag Bags are empty now, but a 32 oz size Power Aid Bottle fits in the open pocket. The 40 year old 1 liter Sigg Fuel bottle fits in there as well. 3.5" in diameter is about a large a container the open pocket will accept.

The closed pocket-the one with the flap held closed, that pocket is huge. I was able to get the Sigg Fuel Bottle and the 32 oz Power Aid Bottle. Side by side, these things measure 7" laid side by side.

2 of those Power Aid bottles gives you 64 oz aka 0.5 gal which on my bike gives about 25-30 miles-or a whole lot of whiskey.

I see $399 with a 20% discount at checkout? Works out to $329 after shipping. That is still a much better price than buying directly from AS, which is £312 ($402 USD) + £41 ($52 USD) = $454 USD shipped.

Crikey. I should have waited until now to buy them :photog
