OMG - missed this, I don't care about bugs, staying in hotels. Rain means wet road, means mud, means fog on face shield, means no pics. 50 and rain mean hypothermia. Oh and it's August - WTF

Hey Navy is that positive enough :lol3 Who do I sound like? Maybe a Marine before deployment? :D

T- 22 hours to SMIB Translab takeoff

:fyyff the weather and the bugs! I would still be going even if I wouldn't get to see most of what I am planning. I am riding and that's all that matters....:D

I actually delayed my packing and other tasks before takeoff just so I don't leave today.... Getting fired up for the TRANSLAB and an opportunity to see a part of Canada I've never seen. Praying for overcast and 60s until I get to Newfoundland - I need sunny and 70s. Got three rounds of golf planned :D

You SMIB boys have fun up there - the bugs are bad enough, the rain will eliminate the dust, and if you're catching hypothermia at 50f, you really haven't dressed appropriately.

Take heed - the northern section of the 389 is busy as hell right now with truck traffic. The TLH isn't near as heavily travelled, but be ready for traffic on the 389 - the mine is booming these days.

You can still take some nice photos in the rain -

In the wet, watch out for the wooden decked bridges, they are slick as hell.

Guilty... I did take your wife's advice and not bring my own clubs for the trip. I hate rentals though :D
