On Thursday August 26 at 7 pm Parker Bros is having an open house featuring Untouched World products. I bring it up to the S/A riders because their base layers are made of Merino. This has the advantage of wicking, climate control and you can wear it for days and it won't stink. John Harris is also bring New Zealand wine and desserts.

After a rather long week and an urgent call that our bikes would be in a week early, a quick change to my airline ticket and apologies to my family as I left Karen to pack the house and arrange the move to Beaver Valley. I made the mad dash accross the pond arriving on Sunday. Monday at 0600hrs I was drinking coffee with Maurice and Johan from Trade Ocean freight forwarders, two very well connected and pleaseant guys to deal with. I handed over the carnets and arranged to be at the docks on Tuesday to clear the bikes. Alfie and Leon along with some hired muscle met myself and Lux the customs officer chrged with checking the freight. All the bikes arrived in excellent condition with the exception of Jamies bike which unfortunatley broke a tie down, fell against Harry's bike and rested on a heavy duty tie down stopping it from damaging Milo's bike. All in all the damage was minimal a scratch on Jamie's bike and a small dent in Milo's aluminum saddle bag.

It was a rather hectic day but all in all it went really well although I did worry when I saw the bikes sleeping on each other, the rest all came out in the same condition as they went in. We loaded ten bikes at a time on two trailers and moved them to Sable Sqare Mall where my brother has his offices. We were supposed to store them in their underground secured parking lot but I did have a few concerns with the renovations happening in the area and asked Mike where else? We spoke to Vannessa who is the property manager and she allowed us to put them in a empty store in the mall with blacked out windows, 24/7 security and an alarm system which I was allowed to choose the code and I am now just waiting for the adventurers to come over and ride them.

:wings Time is flying! Bought the VStroms in Jan/Feb. Modifications completed in April thanks to Peter's generous offer of his shop (equipped with heat, light and - oh a fridge). Managed some serious mileage (15k +) in 3 months including a trip West to Pemberton/Whistler/Vancouver and back to Peterborough in June. Two weeks today we arrive in Capt Town! Woohoo! The bikes are waiting! Thanks Gary!

    Drunk baboons plague Cape Town

The sun is setting over South Africa's oldest vineyard and the last of the wine-tasting tourists are climbing onto their buses. But one large family group has no intention of leaving – and there is little the management can do about it.

If it wasn't for your efforts this fabulous trip might not have happened. It seems like an adventure already. :clap

It will be really interesting in 7 weeks when we get home. I am certain there will be tales to tell.

    I can hardly wait.:D

Just GO already and leave us regular people here, living out our lives in quiet desparation!
