Which one is the knock sensor? When you search the service manual knock sensor is not mentioned
Stage 4 is still only Ohlins cartridges in the stock fork tubes so doesn't solve the problems everyone is having .
I went for stage 3 and the difference from standard was outstanding and worth the money from my perspective.The Ohlins shock is hard to fault and takes anything you can throw at it. Just returned from the Connie Sue Hwy and Gunbarrel Hwy where we were carrying a huge amount of weight (60 litres fuel and 14 litres water plus 4-5 days food and camping gear) and I couldn't fault it and it was some of the roughest terrain you will ride in.
The Andreani fork cartridges are the same. Awesome at soaking up the small stuff but when you push them in the tough stuff they do the job exceptionally well. Never bottomed them out once on the trip despite having two pinch flats from some big hits on rocky washouts.
The problem I have now is after 8000km of having the Andreanis in is I have the same problem as everyone else is having.
My fork tubes are rooted and I've already put $1000 into them. Don't know which way to go now. Just found a set of Kayaba twin chambers today and leaning towards them at the moment. The original forks with the Andreanis in were as good as anything I've ridden when new but now have that much stiction they are just absolute crap.

The one that Kasu posted up is a generic Honda one. The Africa Twin may not have a knock sensor.
Have you put in a warranty claim for them or do you think it'll be void due to the modifications you've done?
Pop the original internals back in and take it to dealer as warranty.
I'm thinking of your suspension setup myself and will lodge a claim if I have any problems with forks.
As someone who suffers arthritis in my right hand, these are a bloody magnificent.
I've had them on my Beta since day 1 and aside from an initial bit of wierdness on the first ride, can't fault them.
I was really looking for it but could not find. usually it should be on block or head, but whole manual does not mention it.
Yea going to put the original cartridges back in and send them into the dealer. I live 400km from the dealer so will do it on my next trip up to Perth. Kind of waiting to what outcome others will get because I don't really want the tubes replaced if they haven't solved the problem and it's going to be reoccurring.
Found out why there aren't many KYB forks around. The motocross blokes have grabbed most of them as they were swapping them for the air forks in the CRF 450's for the last couple seasons that no one liked.
Put in a claim on-line on the Honda webpage. State your concern (I.e. Can't wait for new tubes and will take it to the dealer when they know how to fix it. Some vid of the stiction if applicable).

It seems that the AT does not have a knock sensor, the manual i have is on the PGM-FI system,
and gave examples of other bikes that had knock sensors so i just assumed the AT had it too.

First decent dirt ride on the AT today. Most impressive!!
Basically it felt like a bigger version of my 690. Liked the traction control on our WA pea gravel ... particularly with the stock tyres on. I did get carried away and quickly found the limit of those stock tyres ... a long while since I was last on dirt without aggressive knobbies ... the front end had no bit at all. Ha ha ... a couple of reasonably big movements soon slowed the pace.
All in all very impressive ... buttery smooth motor and good unobtrusive tech. This has certainly moved the game on since my last big adv bike .. the 990.
I've got a full Ohlins front end ordered though Teknik, but it won't get fitted up until February when we return to Greece and continue our RTW journey. I'll bring the Honda front end home with me for the 3 month break we are having over our summer and hopefully have Honda deal with it there in Australia.
Oh for those interested the bike run like a champ on 88 in Indonesia, but spat the dummy on 80 octane in Uzbekistan.
The thing flies but doesn't make good noises when it lands hahaha

Yes I do, the seat was never going to cut it long term.
