Unless Honda changes the OE rack for 2017, the ATO rack will fit. The finish will be black oxide (matte black finish) on stainless steel, so it won't corrode.

Spartanman and I finished up the final mods last night, including removable handles - all told about 22 "tweaks" . Now off to the fabricator for pricing of the final prototype and for manufacturing a first run of 10-20 units. We also have a design for an optional guard for soft bags, extending downward from the sides of the rack and integrated into the foot peg mounts to offer protection of the soft bags from encountering the rear wheel and chain.

Today we forwarded the updated rack design to the fabricator for quote. We'll keep you up to date on our progress!

I am very interested in this concept...just the price is/would be a hard step...my hacksaw, touch of paint, with a quick couple of supports goes along ways...but I would consider it even at the price point you are proposing if the final quality is there, as I would not have to buy yet another set of bags to carry my essentials, so that would have to be considered as well...and I would not be cutting up a nice new bike...

I'm also very interested.....my 2017 DCT is expected to arrive end of March.......
Also like the idea of adding a rotopax mount and the drop bar for soft panniers.
Any new pictures of the new updates???
    Good job guys!!!!

yes, Rotopax is critical to be included. I think that may mean that it needs to be lengthened a bit or it risk's being too close to where the soft bags saddle over the rear of the bike.

Any idea of when you plan to have this to market? I need a solution fast!

For this, you should check out the camel tanks, they're really nice. Although some might still opt for an additional rotopax for water I suppose.

CRF1000 riders, we really appreciate all the interest in our ATO rack! We’re in contact with the vendor and will get pricing ASAP! Yes, the rack will be pre-drilled for a Rotopax mount, and yes, there’s room for throw-over soft luggage with the fuel pack mounted.
