Yes, we matched the OEM hole pattern so the OEM and aftermarket top cases and extension plates would bolt on. We plan to offer an extension plate as well.

We located the rotopax mount holes so that a 2 gallon rotopax tank sits completely aft of the passenger seat. That way the passenger doesn't have a plastic tank stuck in their tailbone.

As well as other brands of throw over luggage such as Giant Loop.

It was a key reason for the design, but it was also to give people the option to remove the handles if they don't ever carry a passenger. And to shrink down the handles to a more reasonable size. The OEM grab handles are huge.

Glad to hear an extension is in the works. Was planning to sort out what to buy after I get this rack mounted on my Africa Schwinn. Any idea of a timeline on these?

We need to get a few details worked out, but I'm guessing about 4 weeks.

Those who ordered ATO racks in the last few days: they are boxed and will ship tomorrow by FedEx. We'll email you the tracking number then. Thank you!

So I got mine out to look it over.
Are the pits for the spot welds supposed to be filled?
I am a little concerned mine might catch water and dust leading to rust as it is unfinished steel.

Hi Fish, the "pits" are slots and tabs for component assembly alignment. They may or may not be TIG welded, depending on location. Speaking of welds, there are no spot welds. The rack is 100% TIG welded. Rust? It won't rust. The entire ATO rack is made of stainless steel, including the TIG welds. Go get it wet and muddy. No worries.

I received mine today and installed today ;-)

    Plus side:
    - look
    - easy to install without any problem
    - handlebars are now well integrated

    Improvement side:
    - black is not top quality. My fingers are black too now.

Hi Erey, the black stuff on your fingers is rinse residue from the black-oxide process, not the finish itself. The residue washes off with soap and water. The black oxide finish beneath is chemically bonded to the stainless steel and doesn't wash off. Thanks for posting the pictures. Looks great!

A couple things: The included plastic strips help hold on the plastic fascia panels. I see you installed them before putting on the fascias. Also, the included flat washers are supposed to go on the back side of the grommets, not on the top surface as you have them. PM me if you have any questions on any of this.

    FYI:

Go to 1:15 for the washer installation, and 3:25 for the plastic strip installation.
