I went and got some extra bolts to fill the used pocket threads and added a strap hold down if needed. I threw some nuts under a few if needed on the trip. I did chase the threads, no need to ask why. I lucked out. This is a heads up for others. Great Rack. Unlimited options for mods. Very happy. [IMG][IMG]

I'm interested in the last rack if still available. Shipping to Darwin, Australia.

We're placing an order for more racks this week - 5-6 week delivery expected. We wish we could speed this up but ....

don't mean to be pushy but whats the news on the shorter rack. just don't know if I want to keep waiting or just get the one that's ready.

Rip, no plans on a "shorter" rack - other than you, we've not found any interest thus we'll not explore that option.

Got the rack installed. Reckless 80 slung; I was concerned with the edges of the strap slots on the rack cutting into the nylon, so I improvised some abrasion sleeves from a leather shammy. IMG_6481.JPG

Yeah took like thirty or so minutes to sew it all up. Bicycle inner tube would also work, and I probably would have used that if I had remembered I had a spare piece.

How is the fit for the Reckless 80 on the sides? Is it hitting the exhaust?

I'll post pics in a min, but it fits pretty well. It does contact the exhaust, but the Mosko heat shield is sufficient. My next challenge is tweaking the load asymmetry. If I can find a tie down to replace the passenger pegs that'll help a lot.

The asymmetry in the passenger pegs is probably the biggest annoyance

Reckless 80 fitting. Ensure the lip of the holster is past the rear plate. See last photo.[IMG][IMG]

Thanks for the pictures, that is exactly what I was hoping for. There has to be something to use with the passenger pegs, I probably need to wander around the hardware store staring at stuff until I find the right solution.

Yeah that's my task tomorrow, amble around Home Depot and look for interesting metal bits.

Took off the passenger pegs to see if that would help
Better but overall no joy, still some asymmetry due to the exhaust. My current fix is one I've used before- lashing a 1L Nalgene in place to balance things out.
