    Hey Guys,

I figure since your local and some of you are riding 950/990 I would ask you guys. I found a 05 950 with 14000km but the guy is firm on $8000 all TSB's are complete comes with ktm hard side bags and heated grips but no farkles beside that and a KTM jacket. Do you guys think its too much?

You'd probably have to import form the US to do much better.

It may be low miles but that's no deal. 9K in Virginia will get you an 07 with about the same miles. Have a look in the flea market. Alternately I would pay about 6000-6500.

seems a tad high to me also ?
it may be hard to find a decent 950/990 in the $8000 and under range with low mileage
I like to spend a bit more up front for a newer/better bike
of course this may not be an option for all
    so good luck

Thanks guys, I thought it was a bit much but I'm getting a bit desperate. I was trying to find one in Ontario but its starting to feel like I'm looking for a three legged platypus. I see a few older ones or really new ones but non in between. Who's got em all ?

There is also something about the half year difference in the 05. You see some people posting an 05.5 because of the differences, I am not sure what they were but seems to be a selling point

Thanks toddiscdn but I'm looking in the 2009 to 2011 range so not a problem. Thought I had a 2011 in Barrie but the guy sold it on me, I guess I didn't move fast enough.

Just wondering why you want a 990 adventure? what kind of riding are you planing on doing?
I have a 690E and love it, only need a better front wind protection for long distance.
    Just asking

I was waiting for a 690 Adventure and got sick of waiting so the 990 was the next best thing. I know she's a big girl but I'll be mostly riding roads fire lanes and trails that suit the pig. I wanted something that I could throw the wife on too. I saw a nice set up http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=511345&page=46 but the 990 seems to have this already.

So get a 690 and make it an adventure :deal prob cheaper that way also.
I can put my GF on the back and ride for about an hour or so, but then need a rest it is a bit cramped. But thats only once in a while and need be can do everything else.
I am just saying because I thought I wanted a 950 for the same reasons but now 690 all the way :evil

Do you have an aftermarket windscreen on your 690 ? if so does it make a big difference. Right now I'm riding a Honda XL 340 to work 40min and it has no wind protection and it sucks

I have one but if I was going to ride longer trips would want a better one.
There are some nice ones out there even on the vendors fourm.

990 all the way - nothing else - for me
of course I like the HP and while the 990 is not as quick as my CBR 954
the 990 on a gravel road and steering with the throttle puts a grin on my face everytime :D
-- and I have the 530 for tight bush riding--
the 990's weight only is a factor when you are braking - and usually your going to fast
other than that it's just like a big 100 hp Dirt Bike !

Weldit I found a 2010 990R with side cases and engine guard with 15000km for $13500 I feel he's asking a bit much but I'm comparing to a 2011 990 not R with 12000km for $11000 with side cases heated grips and still under warranty from Mission Cycle that i missed out on by seconds. What do you think?

If money is not an issue, 450 and the 990. usually money is an issue... so 690 for doing it all. it keeps up to the 450 and better on the highway,,,And keeps up to the 990 and better in the bush... :D

There are after market stuff to make it look like the 990 and would cost less.
