I am advised by ATE Classic that their part # is Ate 03-3556-0052-2-34.

I was unable to source a USA retailer though. If you didn't care about the fluid level sender, I ordered a non-sender cap from Autohausaz under part # 477611361. I replaced mine last night.

I did futz around with my intermittent OE cap on the bench trying to repair it. I very carefully removed the small blue cap with a razor blade to gain access to the float terminals inside. I shot DeOxit on them and tried to burnish with a pencil eraser. I also cleaned the .250 male wire terminals. It continuity tested OK but I haven't put it back on the bike to see if it's really fixed.

I wonder if a really need the fluid level sensor. It's not that big of a deal to remove the tank and check it every so often. I wonder if I can't repair the spade connector with a sodering iron.

Have a look around an auto wrecking yard. I seem to remember the same cap on the brake and clutch slave cylinder reservoirs of my early '80's 320i.

J-Boy, I may have a cap. Is $50 too much? For that I could send the whole MC. I'll check at the shop and get back to you.

I looked into this when I was researching my problem. They are similar but float height spec for the R90 undertank motorcycle sender is 33mm. Most automobile reservoirs are deeper than that. If you find one that works please post it.

    Hi,

Recently went to a bar mounted master cylinder. So have a master cylinder that needs a re-seal, line, reservoir, cap, brake switch the whole deal. PM with offer.

Cap, reservoir and line were replaced about 6-8 years ago. Bought new from Capital Cycle.

Got tired of the leaks under the tank. Looked at the bore in the cylinder and I believe it is just the seal gone weak, still had brakes just weeped fluid when it sat in the cold garage. Rebuilt the cylinder in the early 90's with new seal kit and piston, so it was due...

    Need a set of:

    Square Style-Valve Covers
    Non Painted-Aluminum
    Original Style for 81 G/S

Mine are shaved down and bashed from several "events" over the years! I need a set that are not damaged but they don't have to be clean/restored. I'll do the cleaning/vapor blasting. New is available but they want first born prices.

    Thanks!
