Me. But is register in AZ. Have not transferred to my name yet. But Texas is super easy to plate a bike
I was originally supposed to get it in November. Now it should be December (fingers crossed). According to my dealer, the bikes are ready except one part of the suspensions (a company which used to make a part for ZF Sachs closed because of Covid, so they send the plans to AJP who are making it themselves). I am not 100% sure about all this, that's what I have been told.
I spoke the danish importer of the PR7 yesterday. And he told me the same thing. He wasnt sure if he would see the 21s in december or early january. And he also confirmed what has been previously mentionen are upgrades on the 21 model. Wonder what the new graphics will look like
Anyone know if AJP is still committed to getting the PR7 DOT approved for US plates? I read they got their Cal CARB cert awhile back so I thought DOT/NHTSA cert would be coming along, but I haven't heard. Maybe it was the EPA cert of conformity (https://www.epa.gov/importing-vehic...icate-conformity-light-duty-vehicle-car-truck) but CARB is more stringent so they should be good to go?
Have to talk to Jeff S the importer in Boise. I haven’t heard anything recently about DOT. I think the sales #’s were low for the cost. Chicken & the egg problem.
He told me (a year ago?) that it was up to AJP - but I can't recall if they were working on it or not? I thought Cal CARB cert was a good step, but maybe that was just to get the off-road green tag.
2020 hasn't been the year anyone expected. Instead of crossing the Pamir Mountains and the Mongolian Steppe, as I had envisioned, my PR7 had to content with gravel roads in Switzerland. With some of the highest population density in Europe, wilderness is nowhere to be found and the total length of legally rideable gravel roads sums up to something like 11km for the entirety of Switzerland. (Ok, admittedly this is a bit of an exaggeration, but not by much ). And on top of that, none of them can be considered wild or extreme. Here're some impressions: This is how most of my riding activity looked like. Luckily the PR7 has excellent on-pavement manners and the twisties are as much fun as on any other motorcycle (if not more so). Nonetheless, I hope for a better 2021 and wish you all happy holidays.
Biggest flaw...AJP,useless at graphics, makes a good bike look cheap...Swiss one above looks better bare...Thork ones look the part though!
One the subject of a 510 model, 8550 Euro is too expensive, that's a KTM 790 Adventure with it's 1st service paid for,or a Honda CRF450L(old stock) for a 1000 Euros less,OK,a Honda needs 3000 Euro thrown at it,straight off the bat,to get it set up,why they never sold in Europe, but the Honda will be a future classic, like the XR650R. I read the 510 had a 14 litre tank, that's what's needed, then i saw a printout from EICMA saying it was only 9.5litres,no where near enough for the TET countries i plan to go to,and it's not like Acerbic,IMS,etc will be making bigger underseat tanks...have the price at £6000 British, and 14 litres of fuel,i'm in,above that in the pricing no(mate just scored a SWM 500 for £5600 new, fluro one, needs fuelling addressed though, terrible, needing a £Grand spunked at it).
Thanks The stickers can be peeled off rather easily. I didn't like the graphics anyway and you save about half a kilogramm without the stickers Now I'm considering whether to leave it bare or get custom graphics.
Confused dot com. Where can I buy a 790 plus first service for 8550 euro? Also, your comments re 510 - is that the SWM RS 500 or ? If your mate needs his new SWM remapping, contact Paddy Collins (in Hull) he makes these bikes fly and it won't cost £1000. I've had my RS500 for 4 years now - a great trail/UK rally bike. Agree that the AJP graphics are at best plain, don't like the Thork graphics (but do like my Thork PR7 remapped ECU). Interested in more striking PR7 graphics if anybody knows of any.
