There won't be any ATV riding though. I flipped one today. One broken hand later...

Maybe Nata Harli will start a new thread and then you FF's can decide.

I'm used to motorcycles. When you're on steep terrain, the bike stays up. But everybody said I needed an ATV, so I borrowed one. I took it up a hill that, with a dirt bike, I wouldn't even have noticed. And then that ATV rolled on me. I baled as soon as it started to roll but it happened too fast, and it smashed my arm and hand.

I thought I'd broken my arm. The best part was that my finger was numb. I prefer numb to screaming pain. Holy shit it's sore today.

Anyway, I also did a couple of creek crossings. We'll have fun on the motos. One weekend and everyone will be ready for everything I've ridden in la.

I'm going to invite Nata Harli over to my place near Richland Center, WI. Some time before his big summer ride- maybe to kick it off? Maybe late July or early August? This will be a very simple production, with no upfront costs at all. Room for about 30 or 50. We can do the food on an as-needed basis, on account of there being a grocery store just ten minutes away. There's a convenience store just five minutes away, and they sell beer.

22990 Hwy Z, Richland Center, WI. Take Hwy 14 west of Richland Center about 5 or 6 miles. Z goes north, just before the tiny village of Boaz. You take Z north about 2 miles, to the corner of Z and Tuckaway Valley Road. That's the center of the farm.

    Property details:
    180 acres.
3/4 of a mile of trout stream
    small house
    big barn

If we camp, there's a meadow on top of the hill on the south-west section.

If anybody is bringing a wife/girlfriend type, and they don't want to camp, then they can stay in the house.

I have a few extra tents and sleeping bags in case anybody needs to borrow.

Maybe one of these days Ken will start a proper thread and call it something fancy, like "ALARR V." But it doesn't matter to me, and if there's a real, non-Bananamanly-incompetent LARR, that's ok with me. I'm just suggesting a few beers with Ken and anybody else who wants to come over and screw around.

I am following the finca progress on FB. Looks like a shitload of work, but a good time. Looks like I won't be able to make it to the 'lets get beers with Ken" aka alarr event as I'll still be on the road all next summer

dg in thailand about to leave for http://www.rideforcambodia.com

Humm........interesting......you might have a Brazilian Couple visiting you, camping and having a few beers with you and Ken.
Let's see how things develop during the next few months.
    Hope it works out.

So in the middle of nowhere, 7 miles from where Joseph Stalin's daughter lived (and died), we can plan Latin America Riders' Soviet Tour.

I hope both of you can make it.

So maybe we need to change the name of the rally to something like ALAPEPAER - Annual Latin American Plus Europe Plus Anywhere Else Rallye? Or, maybe just NHABB - Nata Harli's Annual Beer Bust?

Whatever we name it, here's what I'm thinking (based on whether or not it works with Bman's schedule):

    ALARR V - July 27th - 29th at Max's Resort

I'm basing this solely on selfish reasons. I'm planning on attending the BMW MOA since it's so close in Sedalia, MO (why they picked that spot I'll never know) the 19th-21st. On the 22nd I'm going to take a couple of days and ride up to Oskosh for "The World's Greatest Aviation Celebration" (http://www.airventure.org/) which is being held from the 23rd to the 29th. I'll probably attend that event for a couple of days, maybe the 24th and 25th then head towards Max's resort on the 26th and help him get ready for ALARR V.

If we are in agreement for the 27th - 29th for ALARR V, I will get that thread started.

(Max, I think I told you the wrong dates for ALARR so I'm hoping this doesn't screw you up)

Hope to see ALL of you there whatever dates we finally decide upon.

    I confirm Nata Harli's invite.

I'll see if the Lonesome Dove in Boaz will bring in strippers. Otherwise, it's not far to Iowa.

I'm gonna say anybody can set up a tent just about anywhere on the 180 acres. Or sleep in the barn. There are also hotels in Richland Center.

The EAA in Oshkosh isn't far, and it's pretty cool.

If anybody wants to ride the Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail, it's nearby.

If you're on fb, like the Violet Rose Cattle Company.

Oh yeah: non-rider wives can sleep in the house.

    That's a big affirmative!!!!

Sounds like we will have lots of options.

I thought the motto of ALARR was "Share and share alike". :evil

So, looks like ALARR V is on. The details so far:

    Dates: July 27th-29th
Location: Max's Resort and Strip Club (I like that, Doogle.)

I'll get a thread started over in the Latin American regional forum soon.

Maybe Max can get me some GPS coordinates to use with the location.

GPS coordinates: corner of Tuckaway Valley Road and Highway Z, 2 miles up Z from Hwy 14, where Z goes north, just east of Boaz, Wisconsin.

I've always wanted a strip club.

Would that be near the intersection of Z and High School Road? I don't see any strip club anywhere close to there.

So we properly offended her so you won't have to worry about her attending ALARR again? Remember, we did it for you. :evil
