Ran into a couple of shots of my '68 Triumph Bonnie.
Bought it in 1972 as a rolling runner with a busted primary case. Previous owner had "repaired" it with JB Weld and a beer can. Spent 2 years and all the spare change I could round up to put her in this condition. Simpler times back then.
Sold it in 1974 for a one-way plane ticket to Anchorage.
Wish I still had this one.
Note the farkle. Wixom fairing, custom sissy bar, and state of the art Arthur Fulmer metal-flake lid. Ya baby!

Took me a year of saving for my two wheel re-up. 1975 Kawasaki 900 Z1B. $2495 new from Squeeks when he had his shop on Commercial Drive.
Scary power (for back then) but would wiggle a bit on fast transitions. Ended up with a Vetter WJ, tank bag, and a Kelty backpack for my adventure touring bike. Owned it for one season then sold it for my first BM.
Still looking for a shot of that one.

    Well Fite,
I, for one, am glad that Bonnie was only worth a "one way" ticket. :clap

I had a Wixom Bros fairing on my CB750 Honda (couldn't afford the Vetter).

    [IMG]---->Alice is the cat's name<----

The Wixom would create a speed wobble at 'exactly' 100 mph, so you didn't want to "break the Ton" with it installed. If you pulled the fairing off, it would flow up past 120 but felt light and :eek1. It's funny because the R1200GS weighs about the same as the old 750 (522'ish) and yet the GS is planted to the road at SPEED. Also funny how quickly you can reach the Ton on the GS compared the Honda.

Thanks for the scary Wixom thoughts......

p.s. Sunny, 69F and a 26 mph breeze today in East Tenn :lol3

I had a Vetter on my 1970 Bonney. I did not want it, but I came home one day and my dad had had one installed; color matched and all. He was worried about me riding in winter weather in the arctic climate of Virginia. What are going to do? I kept it.

Sold the Kawasaki and moved on to my first BMW.
1976 900/6. Brand new! $3750 with big tank, dual front discs, 4 way flashers.
out of BMW Center Seattle. $50.00 to ship to Anchorage.
TMS had not pick up the dealership at that time.
This picture was taken a year later at the start of a 6 week 12,000 mile runner.
Loved that bike. Had it fairly well farkled.

EzBerg saddle, Lester wheels, Vetter, Arthur Fulmer bags, Rack Factory rack.
    Stylin'.

    Fast forward to 1983.
    R100RT 60th Anniversary.
Shot taken at TMS old shop.

Same RT with taller screen and Euro police lights installed.
Got the lights over the counter in Germany.
They were not sold in the states.
Clean install. The pull open handles were located on the inside of the fairing in the side pocket recesses.
The bike was ridden to Arizona, sold to a rider from Eagle River, shipped back to Anchorage, and ended up at George Rahn's dealership in Fairbanks. Last I heard it was fully restored and ended up in John Binkley's stable.
Pretty rare bike. One of less than 200 built. In 1984 BMW apparently had plenty of Pearl paint left and produced the Last Edition bikes.
    RT, RS, and CS.

and no .... I can't fit into those leathers today.
