I was wondering if anyone could provide me with an up to date digital road map of Alaska.

I'm also looking for a link to the ferries in Alaska and their schedules?

    Thanks for any help.

I'd recommend buying a book/guide called The Milepost, the bible for Alaska travels including ferry schedules, maps and 500+ pages of other good info.

FYI, you posted this in ride reports. Check out the Great White North section in the Regional forums.

Thanks Popey, I wasn't quiet sure where to post it. I've already got a copy of the milepost but I need a digital map in order to share ride info with a friend. We're in the planning stages of an Alaskan trip and he's 1k miles away.

Heck, why don't you both pick up copies of MS Streets & Trips? It's good enough for any trip planning purposes, both here in Alaska and through Canada from any point in the South 48. S&T can be found at discounted prices in quite a few places, from truck stops to book stores.

And to go right to the horses mouth, so-to-speak, here's a link directly to the AHMS (Alaska Marine Highway System) site: http://www.dot.state.ak.us/amhs/index.html

Planning for my once-in-a-lifetime trip to Alaska is now well under way and I have just ordered my 2006 copy of the Milepost for delivery in March.

This site is a great source of info, particularly from you Friendly Frozen North guys. Thank you all. All being well I should be meeting sum of you at the Dawson meet mid-June. I can feel the hangover comin on already :1drink
