Highwood Junction has fuel as does
-Centex station half way between Highwood junction and #1
    -Junction of 40 & 1
-1A just west of junction with 40
-Mountaire Lodge (where 40 crosses Red Deer river) is a maybe
    -Nordegg

I was on it a bit yesterday (north of Waiparous) and it was in good condition. Relatively light traffic. Dusty though.

They never rebuilt Mountainaire Lodge from what I understand... at least wasn't when I last went thru. Too bad, as perfect spot for a store & gas... except for the flood risk.

    FTR thread HERE.

Mountain aire is shut down. Nothing there confirmed.
There is a brand new Esso at the junction of #1 and highway 40.

There is gas 1 km west of the 1A and #40 junction (closes at 9 PM) so the longest stretch would be from there to Nordegg.
It is 270 kms or 170 miles.

Looks like I need to bring 4 litres more just for bangin around. Plateau Mountain has my interest have any of you made tracks up there? It’s just N. from the junction of 40 and 532.

Can't get up to Plateau on a bike anymore. Access road is gated by an oil company. But you can take a short side trip up to the top of the pass at 532, east of the junction with the FTR and hike up to Plateau from there if you want a good workout.

Dang. There are some odd installations around the S.E. perimeter where I wouldn’t expect .
